- "Ahhhh, look at the noodle cart! Sorry, I know there's a lot of other damage. But that was my favorite place to eat."
- ―Imri Cantaros, to Vernestra Rwoh
Koko Noodle was a noodle cart operated by the vendor Koko that served spicy noodles at the outpost Port Haileap on the Outer Rim planet Haileap during the High Republic Era. The human Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros loved the cart and the food it served, considering it his favorite place to eat.
In 230 BBY, the noodle cart was destroyed in an attack on the outpost by the Nihil pirates, though it was unclear what happened to Koko. When Cantaros arrived at Port Haileap after the attack and saw the destroyed cart, he was saddened and attempted to rebuild it with the Force. The destroyed cart continued to remain in Cantaros' memory, and he often thought about it while on the Outer Rim planet Aricho.
Description

- ―Imri Cantaros, to Vernestra Rwoh

History
Operation and destruction
- "Let's hope the vendor made it away safely."

The cart was in operation during the High Republic Era.[2] By 232 BBY,[4] the human Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros was stationed at Port Haileap and ate from Koko Noodle, coming to consider it his favorite place to eat and its noodles the spiciest and tangiest in all of Port Haileap. One day[2] in 230 BBY,[1] Avon Starros, a human scientist who was stationed at the outpost, considered visiting the cart to get some lunch. Before she could, however, the outpost was attacked by the Nihil pirates, and she was captured by the Nihil. During the attack, Koko Noodle was destroyed.[2]
When he and his Master, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, arrived at Port Haileap after the attack, Cantaros saw the cart in smoking ruins and immediately was dismayed. Upon seeing the cart, he held his head before quickly becoming embarrassed by his reaction. Rwoh then patted his arm and expressed her hope that the vendor had made it away safely.[2]
Imri's great sadness
- "I can't tell you how many nights I spent thinking about the noodle cart in Port Haileap!"
- ―Imri Cantaros, to Vernestra Rwoh

Shortly after, the Padawan again looked at the destroyed cart and sighed before beginning to repair it with the Force by straightening some of its dents so that it looked like the way he had remembered it. As he did so, Cantaros mentally questioned why the Nihil would want to destroy the cart, noting that Koko had not been seen since the attack. The Padawan also felt that while Jedi were not supposed to nurture negative feelings, he hoped that whoever had destroyed the cart would get what they deserved in return. Not long after, when Cantaros and Rwoh were traveling to[2] the Outer Rim[3] planet Dalna on a mission, the Padawan hoped that he would be able to get spicy noodles on Dalna like the ones from Koko Noodle. He then sighed and voiced sorrow over the cart's loss.[2]
After arriving on the Outer Rim planet Aricho after the destruction of the Galactic Republic space station Starlight Beacon[5] in 230 BBY,[6] Cantaros spent a number of nights thinking about the cart.[5] In 228 BBY,[6] when he reunited with Rwoh on Aricho, Cantaros told her of the many times he had spent thinking about Koko Noodle.[5] By the time[7] later that year,[8] a noodle cart operated in Port Haileap.[7]
Behind the scenes
The wreckage of Koko Noodle first appeared in the 2022 junior novel The High Republic: Mission to Disaster, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase I.[9] When asked what Imri Cantaros' favorite type of noodle pasta was, Ireland stated that all types of noodles were good noodles.[10]
