- "But it's true that things are getting worse. People say in a year, Kwenn will look like Ord Jannak. That Ord Jannak is turning into Keldooine."
- ―Morna
Keldooine was a planet[1] and shadowport[2] in the Keldooine system[3] on the edge of Hutt Space.[2] During the Republic Era, Keldooine was a key world in the region, though[1] by 33 BBY,[4] the piracy rampant in the Slice had taken hold on the planet.[1] The former pirate Queen Maz Kanata marked it as a point of interest on a map she included in the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide.[2]
Behind the scenes
Keldooine was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, written by Daniel Wallace.[2] and first appeared in the 2024 novel The Living Force written by John Jackson Miller.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Keldooine was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book written by Wallace and Jason Fry.[5]
