Katarr was an astronomical object that was the homeworld of the sentient Reeman species,[3] located in the Katarr system in the Vensori sector of the Mid Rim Territories.[2] During the attack on the prison ship Restitution by Pan Eyta, former Tempest Runner of the Nihil marauders,[3] in 231 BBY,[4] imprisoned Tempest Runner Lourna Dee identified one of the attackers as a Reeman from Katarr, having previously worked with one.[3] Katarr also shared its name with the Katarr adumbrature, a text that Jedi Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn assisted the Jedi Master and seer Oorallon with studying[5] around 58 BBY.[6]
Behind the scenes
Katarr was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the name of the Katarr adumbrature in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, written by Cavan Scott[5] and published on April 30, 2019.[7] The spelling of its name was confirmed in the audio drama's script release[8] on October 1 of that year,[7] while Katarr was confirmed to be a location in the 2021 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, written by Scott[3] as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[9]
