The J8 Terrain Sensor was a model of mining sensor that mapped out topographical details and could be used to identify potential hazards. The device had a flat retangular body with a circular screen at one end and protrusions at the other. The screen was topped with an antenna.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] the Jawa trader Tretet Zadiket on the planet Tatooine possessed a J8 Terrain Sensor and sought to trade it for eight ray accelerators and seven actuating modules. The Jawa Entip sought such a sensor and was willing to trade a power injector system for it, nine units of transparisteel, and three ion cells.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the thief Kay Vess traded the desired parts to Zadiket for their J8 Terrain Sensor and then traded the sensor, transparisteel, and ion cells to Entip for the Power Injector System.[1]
Behind the scenes
The J8 Terrain Sensor appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws. The player must obtain the sensor in order to unlock the optional "Adapt" ability.[1]
