- "Recharge ion cells"
- ―Kazuda Xiono's datapad
An ion cell was a form of power source that could be used in ion blaster and in electro-shock prods. It could be recharged from time to time.
During 3 ABY,[3] the Quarren rogue merchant Shuma sold the ion cells on various worlds from her Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport for 250 credits.[1] During the same year,[3] a Jawa on Tatooine named Pinota Pakinota was willing to trade ion cells for enhanced durasteel hull.[1]
Kay Vess used ion cells to modify her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol and construct an electro-shock prod[1] in 3 ABY.[3]
When Kazuda Xiono was impersonating a First Order technician aboard the Titan, during 34 ABY, [4] he carried a datapad listing open work orders. The sixth point on the list, which was written in Aurebesh, involved recharging ion cells.[2]
Behind the scenes
Ion cells were first mentioned in the canon continuity in "Station to Station" an episode in the second season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance.[2] Ion cells later appeared as an inventory and upgrade item in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws by Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft. In the game they were also used to unlock the "Adapt" expert ability which allowed players to recover one additional health instantly when using a bacta vial.[1]
