The Iska sector was a sector of the Mid Rim Territories that contained the Hendrix and Threfal systems in grid square J-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid. In grid square K-17 it contained the Iska system and in grid square J-17 it contained[1] the area of space[3] known as Ravager's Rift,[1] both of which also fell within the Western Reaches.[2]

The Iska sector and Iska system shared their name[1] with the Iska pirates, a criminal group that Admiral Terrinald Screed of the Imperial Navy had driven from Fanha and defeated at Tosste[4] by 4 BBY.[5] In 5 ABY,[6] Admiral Ho'ror'te of the New Republic's military began a mission to gather unaligned allies deep into the Ravager's Rift to reinforce six New Republic fleets led by Admiral Gial Ackbar, which were preparing to rapidly relocate from deployment along the Corellian Trade Spine into the Western Reaches.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Iska sector was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[7] The sector originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Fry.[8]

  6. The events of Victory's Price: An Alphabet Squadron Novel begin after the Cerberon system campaign, and the novel also features the Battle of Jakku at the end of its three main sections. Since Star Wars: Timelines dates both of those conflicts to 5 ABY, the main events of Victory's Price must therefore be set in that year. Furthermore, since the mention of the Ravager's Rift in Victory's Price occurs prior to the Battle of Jakku, it must also have taken place that year.
