A vast atrium with glass walls[2] rose in the center of a large reflecting pool on Imperial Plaza, on the planet of Coruscant. The semi-spherical structure boasted a curved, elongated shell, with a smaller dome at its core that glowed at night.[1] In 2 BBY,[3] Senator Mon Mothma visited the deserted atrium to rehearse what would ultimately become her final address before the Imperial Senate. Shortly thereafter, she was forced to flee, prompting a swift and covert extraction.[1]
Behind the scenes
The atrium, along with other Senate District areas, was shot on location in Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences complex in Spain, originally designed by architect Santiago Calatrava.[4]
