The human-Gungan conflicts were fought[2] in the decades following approximately 4000 BBY.[1] The conflicts involved a series of wars on the planet Naboo[3] between the Grizmallti human colonists and the native Gungans. The Grizmallti arrived on Naboo in approximately 4000 BBY, seeking refuge from a civil war on their own planet. They encountered the Gungans and despite the best efforts of diplomats from both groups, negotiations turned sour and they fought brutal wars for territory and resources over the following decades. Eventually, a rocky peace was agreed in which both sides agreed ignore one another while sharing the planet, with the humans staying on land and ultimately coming to call themselves the Naboo, while the Gungans resided underwater.[1]
Behind the scenes
The war between the Grizmallti and the Gungans was first mentioned in Nexus of Power, a 2016 sourcebook published for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game.[1]
