The Grizmallti were the human inhabitants of the planet Grizmallt in the Core Worlds. Their religion involved the worship of a deity named Nabu. Around 100 years before 4000 BBY, the Grizmallti discovered a planet in the Mid Rim Territories that they named Nabu in honor of their god. Grizmallti aristocrats used the planet as a vacation spot. Around 4000 BBY, Grizmallt was engaged in a brutal civil war. A group of refugee colony ships fled Grizmallt and arrived at Nabu,[1] where one crashed,[2] while other ships landed and the Grizmallti began colonizing the planet.[1]
The colonists discovered another sentient species called the Gungans and both groups attempted to establish diplomatic relations, but became engaged in multiple conflicts for control of territory and resources in the following decades. Eventually the Grizmallti and the Gungans struck a tenuous peace in which they agreed to isolate from each other, and the descendants of the Grizmallti developed a thriving society and came to call themselves the Naboo.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Grizmallti were first mentioned in canon in Nexus of Power, a 2016 sourcebook published for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the inhabitants of Grizmallt were first mentioned in the DataBank for the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds,[3] but were not identified as Grizmallti until Nexus of Power.[1]
