Fuzzball was a small pink and purple-haired creature belonging to a furry, fluttering[2] species of the same name.[1] During the New Republic Era, Fuzzball and other members of his species were captured by pirates and caged at a pet store in the shadowport of Borgo Prime.[2] Around the year 9 ABY,[4] a group of children from the planet At Attin found themselves lost on Borgo. While looking for directions back home, one of the children, KB, encountered Fuzzball and shared a friendly moment with him. Later, during a skirmish with a pirate crew, KB's droid companion SM-33 threw a Warthog attacker into the pet shop, knocking the cages open and freeing Fuzzball and the others of his kind.[5]
Behind the scenes
Fuzzball's first appearance in canon Star Wars media occurred with the release of "Way, Way Out Past the Barrier," the second episode of the 2024 Disney+ television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.[5] Prior to that, the character originated in Captain EO, a 1986 science fiction musical short film. Written by George Lucas, the now-defunct Captain EO was featured as an attraction in Walt Disney Parks.[6] In Skeleton Crew, sounds for Fuzzball were provided by voice talent Shelby Young and Terri Douglas. Skywalker Sound, having worked on the original attraction, provided access to archival recordings of Fuzzball for the actors to base their performances on.[7] The Databank entry for Fuzzball states that he has orange-colored fur, but visually it is clear that his fur is pink and purple in both the episode in which he appears as well as in promotional images seen in Star Wars: Card Trader.[3]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. As
SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set in the same time period as The Mandalorian, it must therefore also be set around 9 ABY.
