Hello all! I propose consolidating the Social Media Team and CheckUser (see here and here, plus this Fandom page—I will propose making a CheckUser section on Administrators later) votes into Wookieepedia:Requests for user rights (WP:RFU) and Wookieepedia:Requests for removal of user rights (WP:RFRUR). The relevant archive pages can be made/moved accordingly. This proposal should be pretty simple, but I've still split it into four votes below. OOM 224 (he/him) 12:25, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

General rules (vote 1)

I also propose to centralise shared voting rules so that they don't need to be repeated in every other section (for rollbacks, admins, bureaucrats). To the intro of WP:RFU, add the following and remove redundant rules from each section: 

In addition to the [[Wookieepedia:Voting eligibility policy|Voting eligibility policy]], all votes are subject to the following rules to be accepted:
#At least ten eligible Wookieepedians must contribute a vote.
#Self-votes will not be counted in the vote totals.

Social Media Team (vote 2)

Instead of Wookieepedia:Social Media Team membership nominations, create a "Requests for Social Media Team membership" section on RFU: 

Nominations must be made by a member of the [[Wookieepedia:Contact#Social_media|Social Media Team]]. The nominee will generally need to have expressed interest, after which the current members of the team will offer guidance on skills development.

#They have an account under a screenname.
#They have contributed at least 50 edits on Wookieepedia as an autoconfirmed user.

CheckUser (vote 3)

Instead of individual CTs, create a "Requests for CheckUser" section on RFU: 

Nominations must be made by a [[Wookieepedia:Bureaucrats|bureaucrat]]. The approval of Fandom staff is required as the CheckUser role is granted at Fandom's discretion.

  1. CheckUsers nominations have been chosen among admins, required Fandom approval, and been brought to a vote by bureaucrats on the CT, following standard Consensus rules. The present CheckUsers Grunny, DarthRuiz30, and OOM 224 (myself) have been elected in this way, while admin Cavalier One also has the tool by virtue of being a Fandom staff as well. The only policy change resulting from this would be that CheckUsers are approved by the community with a 2/3rds supermajority, the same as rollback and admin votes, rather than the standard Consensus rules that apply to CTs. Removal (vote 4)

Amend Wookieepedia:Requests for removal of user rights with content from Wookieepedia:Requests for removal of Social Media Team membership and with the addition of CheckUser: (diff)

The only practical policy change to the RFRUR system is that it incorporates the pretty standard SMT removal rules that a vote must invovle at least ten eligible voters and does not count self-votes. Plus, removing the "registered for over a month from the day the nomination is put forth" clause, per Forum:CT:Other misc. voting requirements cleanup pt. 2.

  1. CheckUsers do not have an established removal process. In the case that an admin with CheckUser resigns or has their adminship removed but retains their CheckUser rights, the admin team would simply request Fandom staff to remove their CheckUser role.
