Requests for removal of user rights (RFRUR) are community votes on demoting individuals from a Wookieepedia position approved via Requests for user rights. Users may choose to include their own rationale while voting under either "Support" or "Oppose" or discussing in the "Comments" section below the vote itself, and site policies must be followed at all times. Wookieepedia's Privacy policy and User conduct policy are especially relevant, and violations would lead to a block in accordance with the Blocking policy.
Voting ends fourteen days (336 hours) after the start of nomination. Wookieepedia administrators are responsible for managing user rights in accordance with established policies and community consensus. Rules specific to RFRUR are detailed below, and archival instructions are linked here.
To view past requests, see the archive.
Rules
Please read the following rules before starting or participating in a RFRUR, as they are approved by Wookieepedia's community consensus:
- Any user who fulfills the Voting eligibility policy may start a RFRUR, which must specify one specific user, the relevant eligible position(s) they are holding to be considered for removal, and corresponding evidence and rationale (see rule 3); a RFRUR attempt that fails to do so is invalid and will be deleted by an administrator.
- Eligible positions for RFRUR are: administrator, bureaucrat, CheckUser, Discussions moderator, rollback, and Social Media Team member.
- Only administrators can be CheckUsers and bureaucrats; if the position of administrator is removed from a CheckUser and/or bureaucrat, those roles would be revoked simultaneously, but a RFRUR on CheckUser and/or bureaucrat status alone would not affect that user's position as an administrator.
- If the vote is to remove a Discussions moderator, eligible voters include current Discussions moderators and any user who has made at least 200 posts in the last 6 months prior to the start of the vote.
- Pursuant to Social Media Team responsibilities, team members are expected to secure the site's social media accounts prior to a RFRUR of a Social Media Team member.
- For review board positions, see Requests for removal of review board membership.
- Aside from RFRURs, the alternative methods of demotion are: the user resigning of their own accord, falling short of activity requirements, or, in extreme circumstances, being blocked.
- Rollbacks, administrators, and bureaucrats may resign via Special:UserRights, which would be logged on Special:Logs.
- The resignation of CheckUser must be tendered by the relevant user to Fandom staff, as that user right is managed by staff members and would be logged via Special:Logs.
- The respective activity requirements specific to administrators, rollbacks, and Social Media Team members also stipulate the inactivity threshold for rights removal without need for a vote.
- Pursuant to the Blocking policy, a user who is blocked shall have any authorities and permissions revoked, including their user rights.
- Eligible positions for RFRUR are: administrator, bureaucrat, CheckUser, Discussions moderator, rollback, and Social Media Team member.
- If the user being considered for demotion via a valid RFRUR no longer holds the relevant position(s) due to alternative methods of demotion occuring during the RFRUR, then the RFRUR is nullified and should be archived immediately.
- If a user believes the RFRUR would benefit from the sharing of evidence, then said proof should be linked in full compliance with the Privacy policy. Edits to Wookieepedia, comments on other websites, and other communications may be used as evidence, particularly if the relevant user is accused of deliberately working against Wookieepedia, harming the community's members or image, and/or abusing their powers.
- The Voting eligibility policy applies. Additionally, at least ten eligible Wookieepedians must contribute a vote, and self-votes will not be counted in the vote totals.
- Supporting votes must have a 2/3 supermajority at the end of the voting period—fourteen days (336 hours) after the start of nomination—for a RFRUR to successfully pass.
