- "There's a doctor. We have it built into the contingency. She [Vel Sartha] doesn't want to jeopardize the mission. This kid, I mean, this kid is the reason that we are here. He's alive."
"How do we get to the doctor?" - ―Arvel Skeen and Cassian Andor, on saving Karis Nemik
Frezno was an Outer Rim Territories moon with makeshift encampments for villages. Doctor Quadpaw operated in a tent on the moon, and was the activated contingency plan for a rebel infiltration team that did a heist on the nearby planet Aldhani in 5 BBY. Quadpaw attempted to save the injured rebel team member Karis Nemik, but was unsuccessful in his efforts. Meanwhile, another member of the team, Arvel Skeen, tried to convince his teammate Cassian Andor to flee with the team's credits, but Andor shot him. Afterward, the rebel held Quadpaw and his team leader Vel Sartha at gunpoint, explaining the situation before leaving Frezno with his arranged cut from the heist.
Description
Frezno was located in the Outer Rim near Aldhani
Frezno[6] was a terrestrial moon[3] located in the Frezno system within an intersecting portion of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories regions.[2] Situated in the forgotten[6] Cademimu sector at the coordinates M-6 on the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] it orbited a planet that dominated the moon's sky.[3] With a Type I atmosphere[4] that was breathable to humans and other species,[3] Frezno featured tall and foggy grasslands.[5]
History
- "I'm taking my cut. The number I was promised. I'm leaving you the freighter and what's inside. I did my job. I'm done. And I wouldn't stick around if I was you."
- ―Cassian Andor, to Vel Sartha
Quadpaw tries to save Karis Nemik
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Jillsarian Doctor Quadpaw ran surgery in a tent on Frezno,[5] tending to desperate patients with nowhere else to go and credits to pay. He[7] was in contact with a rebel infiltration team that had him as a contingency plan in their planned heist on[3] the nearby[6] planet Aldhani[8] in 5 BBY.[9] While the heist was a success, the contingency indeed came into play when one of the rebels in the team, Karis Nemik, became seriously injured, and his teammate Arvel Skeen convinced the other survivors to take him to the Quadpaw.[3]
The rebel team arrived on Frezno in a stolen Max-7 Rono box freighter carrying the spoils of their heist: an Imperial payroll of around eighty million credits. In his operating theatre, Quadpaw began operating on the injured rebel, assisted by the team leader Vel Sartha. Meanwhile, the other two rebels, Skeen and Cassian Andor, sat outside, speaking about whether Nemik would make it. Skeen quickly pivoted into offering Andor a chance to flee with the credits alongside him to an uninhabited moon that was eight parsecs away. The pair discussed each other's intentions, but as Skeen continued to detail his plan, Andor fatally shot him.[3]

Meanwhile, Quadpaw was unable to save Nemik, who passed away on the operating table. As the surgery concluded, Andor entered the operating theatre with his blaster drawn. Andor explained what had happened with Skeen, which Sartha struggled to believe. He then announced that he was leaving with his arranged cut of the stolen credits and Quadpaw's starship, which he offered twice the value of for. Before Andor left, Sartha made him take Nemik's manifesto with him, a request of their deceased teammate.[3] Thus, both Andor and Sartha departed Frezno separately.[10]
Locations
- "I'll give you 30,000 credits for the ship in the barn. That's twice what it's worth."
"Excuse me?" - ―Andor and Quadpaw
A hard-scrabble place, Frezno's villages were made up of makeshift encampments.[6] Quadpaw operated in a dimly lit tent[7] and kept a ship in a nearby barn.[3]
Behind the scenes
Frezno first appeared in "The Eye," the sixth episode of the first season of the live-action Disney+ series Andor.[3] The episode was released on October 22, 2022.[11] Scenes on the moon were first teased in the official trailer for the season, which was published on the official Star Wars YouTube on August 1 of that year.[12] Frezno was photographed in the hamlet of Beedon Common in the English county of Berkshire.[13] While the episode[3] and its audio description establish that Frezno is a moon orbiting a planet,[14] the location's databank, as well as Quadpaw's, calls it a planet,[6][7] along with Paddy Kempshall's 2023 activity book The Ultimate Star Wars Quiz Book[15] and the 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy.[5] This article uses the information from the episode.
