Sliro Ruback speaking at the summit that the Pyke attended on Cantonica

"Enough, Sliro. I didn't come all this way to listen to lies while your Zerek Besh rats skim off our spice lanes."
―The Pyke, to Sliro Barsha — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[2]

A Pyke had joined the criminal Pyke Syndicate[2] by 3 ABY. That year,[1] they attended a summit hosted by the rival Zerek Besh syndicate at their Westhill Palace on the casino planet Cantonica. A representative for the Crimson Dawn and a Weequay representative for the Hutt Cartel were also in attendance. The three representatives were offered a spread of food while they waited for Zerek Besh's leader, Sliro Ruback, to join them and begin the summit.

When Ruback did arrive, the Pyke commented on Ruback's late arrival before sitting in silence while the crime lord outlined the state of the underworld. When the Ruback accused one of the representatives of sending a spy to the summit, the Pyke dismissed the claim, stating that they didn't come to hear lies while Zerek Besh skimmed off the Pyke Syndicate's spice lanes. The mention of the spice lanes brought the Hutt Cartel representative to anger, who pointed out that the spice lanes belonged to the Hutts. The meeting quickly proceeded and the crime lord began talking about his brother's eating habits. Confused by the tangent, the Pyke questioned the point of this before Ruback leaned back in his chair and watched while his guards aimed at and gunned down the representatives.[2]

Later that year,[1] the Imperial Security Bureau's created a report on the Ruback that concluded the murders were an attempt to sent a threatening message to the representative's respective syndicates. It went on to note that the syndicates were actively looking for ways to retaliate against Zerek Besh.[2]
