Excavation Site 12 was an Imperial dig site operated by the Imperial Department of Military Research[1] during 3 ABY[2] on an island in Lake Amari on the Outer Rim planet Akiva. The goal of the site was to excavate a meteorite impact site and research the meteorite's material for potential military applications. A set of ruins were also preset on the island as such the Imperials collected a number of artifacts including a miniature spinning artifact believed to have been used in ceremonial dances. The site also contained a copy of the Imperial Security Bureau's report on the Zerek Besh leader Sliro Ruback.[1]
During the same year,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess visited the island and stole a NL-02 Charge Emitter, the ISB report and the spinning artifact.[1]
Behind the scenes
Excavation Site 12 first appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws. The location contained the NL-02 Charge Emitter which was a key part in unlocking the Electro-shock prod tool as part of Temmin Wexley's expert upgrade track. The site also included the "Cylcone Relic" major charm, which give the player a high chance to gain a free bacta vial or grenade when used.[1]
