- "If we attack from above, they will have the advantage. So we will go through the rocks."
- ―Grievous, at the start of the Battle of Bothawui
The Fervse'dra asteroid belt[6] was located within Bothan Space of the regions known as the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] Located around the planet Bothawui, the asteroid belt was situated in grid square R-14 on the Standard Galactic Grid[4] and retained several passable zones, such as zones six, five, four, and three.[5]
In 22 BBY,[7] during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance, the asteroid belt served as the site of an engagement a Republic task force led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and a Separatist fleet commanded by Kaleesh Separatist General Grievous. Following the battle, which led to Grievous's defeat, the remains of his fleet were left floating adrift throughout the asteroid belt, which was later scavenged by Trandoshan scavenger, Gha Nachkt.[5]
Behind the scenes
The Fervse'dra asteroid belt was introduced, although only in the episode's opening newsreel, in "Rising Malevolence,"[8] the second episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on October 3, 2008.[9] It later made its full appearance in "Downfall of a Droid,"[5] the sixth episode the series' first season, which aired on November 7, 2008.[10] In the new Star Wars canon, the asteroid belt was identified in the sixty-second issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[6] published around March 6, 2016.[11]
