Zone six

Zone six was an expanse of the asteroid field that surrounded the planet Bothawui^[1] in the Mid Rim.^[2] Zone six was located next to zone five. During the Battle of Bothawui, an engagement of the Clone Wars between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Galactic Republic,^[1] in 22 BBY,^[3] General Grievous led his Confederate fleet of Munificent-class star frigates through zone six to reach and attack Jedi General Anakin Skywalker's^[1] task force^[4] of Venator-class Star Destroyers. Aboard Skywalker's flagship, the Resolute, a clone trooper reported the Separatist fleet's movement while Resolute command tracked the enemy force on screens. Unknown to Grievous, Skywalker had allowed for the frigates to pass through zone six and beyond as it meant the starships would be outmaneuvered by a force of All Terrain Tactical Enforcers hidden on the surrounding asteroids.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Zone six appeared on a screen aboard the Resolute in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars^[1] Season One episode "Downfall of a Droid," which first aired on November 7, 2008.^[5] In the episode, a possible continuity issue opens up with a Republic monitor depicting the Separatist fleet further back into the asteroid field than it actually is; when the clone trooper reports that the enemy is breaching zone six, their monitor depicts the fleet as having just entered the field. However, Grievous's fleet had already begun to push through the asteroids by that point. Indeed, the prior shot features a screen watched by Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano that shows the fleet pass what the clone then called zone six.^[1]
