- "What accounts for this drop in the Hadi system?"
"The D'Armin Syndicate attacked one of our supply ships yesterday. Word must have spread…"
"Have a battleship cut them off at the Feriae Junction. Take out their engines and weapons. After a day, have them pushed into the sun." - ―Domina Tagge and her secretary Lapin Tagge
The Feriae Junction was a celestial body[5] located in the Thesme sector's[1] Junction system[3] within an intersecting portion of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and New Territories.[2] Situated at the coordinates O-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid, it lay along the Hydian Way[4] super-hyperroute,[6] which connected it to the Toprawa and Celanon systems,[4] and had its own sun.[5] In 3 ABY,[7] in retaliation for the D'Armin Syndicate's attack on a Tagge Corporation supply ship, Lady Domina Tagge gave orders for a battleship to cut the syndicate's forces off at the Feriae Junction and disable their engines and weapons before pushing them into the sun after a day.[5]
Behind the scenes
Depiction of Feriae Junction in Star Wars Legends
The Feriae Junction was introduced to the current Star Wars canon via mention in a flashback sequence of the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series, written by Alyssa Wong and published by Marvel Comics[5] on November 25 of that year. The mention of the celestial body in the issue was included in its preview on StarWars.com a week before.[8] The planet Feriae Junction originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity,[9] where it first appeared in the twenty-seventh issue of the 1977 Star Wars comic series, which was written by Archie Goodwin, illustrated by Carmine Infantino, and published by Marvel Comics[10] on June 26, 1979.[11]
While the 1979 comic identified the planet as "Junction,"[10] it was later given the full name "Feriae Junction" in "The Hunt Within: Valance's Tale: Part 4," a Wizards.com roleplaying article containing "Mission 4: The Doom of Ultaar," a scenario for use with the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures game. The article was written by Jason Fry and published on January 7, 2005.[9] The 2016 Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game introduced a mapping of the "Junction system" into the current canon.[4] No connection had been made between Feriae Junction and the Junction system in canon until an email by Fry that specified locations originating in Legends continuity could be considered to be in systems of the same name as they had in Legends.[3]
