Escarte was a world[4] in the Escarte system within the Keldrath sector of the Outer Rim[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square T-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Escarte was a strategic world and stronghold for the Separatist Alliance,[3] situated along the Perlemian Trade Route where the Commerce Guild maintained their major interests. Around of the time of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance[4] that took place between 22 BBY and 19 BBY,[5] where the Guild sided with the Confederacy, Escarte was placed under the protection of several Diamond-class cruisers and Recusant-class light destroyers, which were also supported by Guild corvettes and bombers. The world shared its name with the Escarte Guard.[4]
Behind the scenes
Escarte was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[4] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Escarte first appeared as an asteroid colony in Labyrinth of Evil, a 2005 novel authored by James Luceno.[6]
