The Escarte Guard was an elite security force, active in the Commerce Guild's Punitive Security Forces. They offered bodyguard-based protection to the corporation's important individuals. After the Clone Wars began,[1] fought from 22 BBY to 19 BBY,[2] the Commerce Guild sided with the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Galactic Republic and provided their military forces, incorporating the Escarte Guard into the Separatist Droid Army. The guard shared its name with the planet Escarte.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Escarte Guard was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Escarte Guard was introduced in Labyrinth of Evil, a 2005 novel authored by James Luceno.[3]
