"As stars are born and die, so does time move forward. Relentlessly so. And yet we fight. We will never stop fighting for the light and life in this galaxy."
―Creighton Sun[6]

Creighton Sun was a human male Jedi Master who lived during the High Republic Era. A virtuous and traditional Jedi, Sun had a reputation of being unsociable.

Biography

Born by 422 BBY,[1] Creighton Sun’s first mission for the Jedi Order involved a tumultuous peace negotiation between two warring Twi'lek clans on Ryloth.[3] A later mission in Sun’s early Jedi career had him and Porter Engle fly a shuttle to Daedus which was shot down by pirates. He managed to crash-land the ship and fought the marauders who had downed them.[7]

In 382 BBY,[1] he along with fellow master Char-Ryl-Roy, Jedi Knight Gella Nattai and Padawan Enya Keen traveled about the Valiant on a relief mission to the planet Eiram, which was at war with E'ronoh. After helping to negotiate peace between the two planets,[3] Sun traveled to the sacred moon Jedha with Jedi Knight Aida Forte to help oversee a summit where the the planets were to sign a treaty. However the summit failed and erupted into the Battle of Jedha, with Sun leading the Guardians of the Whills and the Jedi in the battle. Sun called in Jedi reinforcements and single-handedly convinced the Eirami and E'roni troops to stop fighting.[8]

After the battle, Sun traveled to the planet Dalna with Forte to investigate the Path of the Open Hand cult, which was believed to have had a hand in inciting the Battle of Jedha. Arriving in the Dalnan sector, the two Jedi met up with Jedi Master Yaddle and Jedi Initiate Cippa Tarko. They landed on Dalna and walked to the Path compound, where they stole Path robes in order to discreetly investigate. They split up, with Sun and Forte heading into the underground tunnels, witnessing a Teevan man being accused of using the Force. Sun and Forte experienced debilitating fear and hallucinations and then saw the man crumble into dust. They also found a chamber with a stockpile of klytobacter. The two Jedi were discovered by Path guards and were forced to defend themselves.[6]

The fighting escalated as the Path attacked Sun, Forte, Yaddle, and many other Jedi on Dalna, erupting into the Night of Sorrow, a horrific and devastating battle. In the battle, Sun encountered creatures that preyed upon Force-sensitives, causing many to be weakened and experience awful hallucinations, and turning many Jedi to dust. Sun was wounded while saving an old woman from an oncoming speeder, and he witnessed Forte receiving a mortal wound.[6]

After the battle concluded, Sun woke up on a medical frigate and learned of Forte's death. In the Coruscant Jedi Temple, he and Grand Master Yoda decided to keep information about the creatures out of the Jedi Archive so that they could not be used against the Order. Sun took Enya Keen as his Padawan after her master, Char-Ryl-Roy, perished in the Night of Sorrow.[6]

In the Jedi Temple, Sun and Master Rinn listened to a report from Arkoff about the death of Arkoff's master, Ravna. After Arkoff left, Sun asked Rinn about the rumors of monsters on Dalna. Rinn replied that they were just rumors, and Sun agreed.[9]

Personality and traits

Creighton Sun was a human male with dark-brown eyes[3] and dark hair that eventually began to become gray. Sun was a virtuous Jedi Master. He was fairly traditional, which earned him a reputation of being unsociable and it took some effort to get to know him. Though when he opened up, he had quite the sense of humor.[5] He was often cynical and saw the worst in things though he tried not to.[8]
