The Comet Runners were a pirate group led by the Palliduvan Corr Taldaan during the High Republic Era.[1]
History
During the High Republic Era ,the Comet Runners were led by the Palliduvan Corr Taldaan. Other members included the Theelin Gossi, the Nosaurian Slegg, and the droid LE-47. They were active on the planet Yarrum.[1]
At some point when Taldaan and the Comet Runners were present at Yarrum Tower they came across the pirate Taborr Val Dorn who was showing off Jedi artifacts he stole from the droid 0G-LC. The Comet Runners stole the artifacts from Val Dorn and planned to sell them on Crescent Island, although they were thwarted by Val Dorn along with Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs.[1]
Later, the Comet Runners raided a village on the planet Vuundalla and stole the villagers' herd of fathiers. They encountered opposition from the three Jedi younglings and Prince Cyrus Vuundir but managed to get away and capture Brightstar, Solay and Nubs. Unknown to the Jedi and the Comet Runners, Vuundir was the pirate Taborr Val Dorn. Taborr summoned his gang associates Pord and EB-3. The two freed the Jedi while Taborr defeated the Comet Runners and warned them that Vuundalla was his "turf."[2]
Taldaan later sought to curry favor with the Ganguls, another pirate gang who had taken over Yarrum Tower. When the Ganguls' leader Sellaccc Orryak asked if the Comet Runners had come to pay tribute, Taldaan convinced the Ganguls to raid the Vuundalla royal palace. While the Comet Runners raided the Vuundalla village, the Ganguls raided the palace and stole the jewels. The Comet Runners and Ganguls returned to Yarrum Tower to celebrate. Taborr pursued the pirates to Yarrum and revealed his true identity as Cyrus Vuundir. Despite the revelation of Vuundir's true identity, the Jedi younglings Brightstar, Solay and Nubs were unwilling to give up on him and came to rescue him. The Comet Runners fought the Jedi younglings, who used their Force powers to hurl the pirates against the Gangugls' throne. However, Vuundir chose not to escape with his Jedi friends since Brightstar wanted him to drop his pirate ambitions.[3]
Later, the Comet Runners raided Zepher's shop on the moon Dedoon where they tried to steal a coaxium package from the Jedi younglings and their friend Zepher. Following a brief skirmish, the pirates managed to trap their opponents in Zepher's store and flee to their ship. Using the Force to arrange the crates into a stack, the Jedi younglings pursued the pirates to their starship. Followed a brief skirmish, they recovered the coaxium package and escaped.[4]
The Comet Runners joined the Ganguls and other pirate factions including Blackbolt and his crew in attacking the Tenoo Jedi Temple during the Battle of Tenoo. Taldaan and his team participated in the space battle. Following the destruction of the Ganguls' flagship Rathtar's Revenge by Taborr and Jedi Padawan Wes Vinik, Taldaan and the other pirates abandoned the battle and retreated.[5]
