The central ruin of Rhand was the primary residence for the Dark organization known as the Sorcerers of Rhand. It was located on the planet Rhand in the Nihil Retreat star cluster of the Perann Nebula in the Unknown Regions. The structure was first constructed by the original inhabitants of Rhand who had disappeared thousands of years before the foundation of the Sorcerers of Rhand. When the Knell of Muspilli, Kanzer Exiles, and Warriors of Shadow merged their belief systems in the Nihil Retreat, the greatest of the sorcerers took residence in the ancient ruins on Rhand and dubbed themselves the Sorcerers of Rhand. In 80 BBY a chronicler from Carrivar named Succate ventured to the central ruins of Rhand to learn more about the Sorcerers. In the ruin's receiving chamber, Succate was harassed and intimidated by Rhandites in various states of disassembly and decay.
