A bodyguard droid with masculine programming was owned by Ambassador Ceeril of Rion during the High Republic Era. While being treated in the medcenter of the Starlight Beacon space station, Ceeril used his bodyguard droid to stage an assassination attempt against himself, hoping to frame two Hassarians also being treated onboard as their species were long-time rivals of his own, the Skembo. The droid was destroyed in the process, but Administrator Velko Jahen and the astromech droid KC-78 discovered evidence in its remains which exonerated the Hassarians and proved Ceeril's guilt.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ The Star Wars Book dates the launch of the Starlight Beacon to 232 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 232 BBY in the calendar used by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. The High Republic: Light of the Jedi further states that Avar Kriss was made the marshal of Starlight Beacon shortly before the launch. As "Starlight: First Duty" depicts Kriss as Marshal, its events must occur around that year, including the bodyguard droid's destruction.
