"Pre-Carvian. Third millennium."
"It's a good guess."
"The stone is Carvian, but it's older, isn't it?"
"We think it's Lost Empire."
―Strang and Luthen Rael discuss Luthen's ring — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[1]

Carvian referred to a period of time that followed the third millennium as well as the Lost Empire period of time. During an art exhibition on[1] the planet[2] Coruscant hosted by banker Davo Sculdun[1] in 3 BBY,[3] artifact peddler Luthen Rael showed a ring he wore to fellow partygoer Strang, who guessed that the ring predated the Carvian period. Strang further guessed that the stone in the ring was Carvian in origin, but that the ring itself was older; Luthen affirmed this by stating he believed the ring came from the Lost Empire period.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Carvian period was mentioned in "What a Festive Evening," the sixth episode of the Disney+ series Andor's second season,[1] which premiered on April 29, 2025.[4]
