Strang: "The stone is Carvian, but it's older, isn't it?"
Luthen Rael: "We think it's Lost Empire."
Partygoer: "My word, Luthen. And you wear it out?"
―Strang, Luthen Rael, and a partygoer, regarding Rael's ring[1]

The Lost Empire referred to a period of history, predating the Carvian period, from which artifact dealer Luthen Rael believed a ring he wore originated. During an art exhibition hosted on[1] the planet[2] Coruscant by banker Davo Sculdun[1] in 3 BBY,[3] Rael showed the ring to partygoer Strang and another partygoer, having them guess its origins; upon revealing its speculated Lost Empire origin, the partygoers expressed surprise that he wore the ring out.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Lost Empire was mentioned in "What a Festive Evening," the sixth episode of the Disney+ series Andor's second season,[1] which premiered on April 29, 2025.[4]
