- "Get these men shaped up and ready for presentation."
"There's not a man amongst them, sir, but I'll do what I can."
"Am I gonna have a problem with you?"
"Duly noted, sir. Problem-free." - ―Kaido and Bloy
Bloy's riot squad was a riot-control squad of Imperial security trooper cadets assigned to Sergeant Bloy. The inexperienced cadets were marched into anti-Imperial protests on the planet Ghorman in 2 BBY, which helped to ignite the Ghorman Massacre.
Description
- "Fall out! Quick time! Tighten up! Look lively!"
- ―Bloy
Bloy's riot squad was a riot-control squad[2] composed of Imperial security trooper cadets[4] under the command of Sergeant Bloy.[1] It fell into overall security trooper regiment under Bloy's supervision. While Bloy himself was an experienced officer,[5] the cadets of his squad,[4] and even the overall membership of his regiment, were untested and not ready for the situation awaiting them when they were deployed to[5] the planet[1] Ghorman amid growing anti-Imperial tensions on world[5] in 2 BBY.[1]
History
- "Patrol, sir? Within the crowd?"
"Was that not my order?"
"They're green, sir. They're useless."
"I see Imperial uniforms, Sergeant. I see a barricade lane to the Memorial that I need kept open. You will march them out there immediately and secure the area. Or you can all finish your days in an Imperial brig." - ―Bloy and Kaido
Bloy's riot squad is forced to march into the Ghorman protests
Bloy's squad of inexperienced cadets was deployed to the Imperial office complex in Palmo on the planet Ghorman in 2 BBY. After disembarking from a troop transport in front of the complex the members of the squad lined up in Palmo Plaza while carrying their equipment before heading into the complex.[1] The group was later present in the complex after Galactic Empire removed barriers to the plaza allowing a crowd of Ghorman protestors to gather at the plaza.[3]
The squad was later ordered by Captain Kaido to patrol a barricade lane to the Monument to the Fallen at the center of the crowd. The squad exited the office complex equipped with riot shields and E-11 blaster rifles as the crowd began singing the Ghorman National Anthem. As they slowly made their way along the barricade lane tenses grew between the unit and the crowd until an Imperial sniper under orders from Kaido shot and killed one of the army troopers. See the man getting shot down, Bloy commanded his unit to open fire, beginning what would be known as the Ghorman Massacre.[3]
