"The Jedi found me at a slightly older age than usual. Also, I'm a Kage. People from my planet remember. Our memories begin almost from birth. I remember my family, Porter. I remember my parents, I remember my siblings, I remember how it felt to be with them. I do not regret coming to the temple…but I remember what I lost."
―Barash Silvain, to Porter Engle[3]

At least two Kage individuals from[3] the Inner Rim planet[4] Quarzite[1] were born to parents[3] by 407 BBY.[2] They were siblings to the Kage female Barash Silvain[3] and possessed eidetic memories like all Kage.[5] By that year,[2] their infant sister's Force-sensitivity was discovered, and Silvain[6] was taken to be trained as a Jedi at the Jedi Temple on[3] the Core Worlds planet[4] Coruscant by the Jedi Order.[3]

In 397 BBY,[7] Silvain confessed to Porter Engle—an Ikkrukkian Jedi who was[3] her[6] close friend—that as she had been found by the Order at an older age than usual, and due to her[3] eidetic memory,[8] she had continued to remember her siblings and family. She noted she recalled how it felt to be with her siblings, and despite not regretting being brought to the temple, she remembered what she had lost. After telling Engle she had found family again with him, Silvain asked him if he would be her brother, which the Ikkrukkian accepted.[3]

Behind the scenes

The siblings of Barash Silvain were first mentioned in flashbacks in the third issue of the 2022 comic miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic — The Blade released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[3] Phase II.[9] The issue was written by Charles Soule and published by Marvel Comics on March 1, 2023.[10]
