- "Now, now, my comrades. You know how these victories can sometimes get distorted in the retelling—it was two squadrons at Yir Tangee."
- ―The Banshee of Bestine correcting his comrades
Yir Tangee was a planet[5] in the Yir Tangee system[3] of the Colonies[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square L-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The planet was the homeworld of two humans, the smuggler Astrid Fenris and Ace Squadron pilot Freya Fenris.[6] By 34 ABY,[7] the Battle of Yir Tangee occurred between First Order and New Republic forces, during which the Banshee of Bestine—a First Order pilot—destroyed two New Republic squadrons. Later, First Order troopers aboard the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Decimator discussed incorrect rumors of the Banshee of Bestine's victory over New Republic forces at Yir Tangee, with the pilot correcting their misinformation.[4]
Behind the scenes
Yir Tangee was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, written by Pablo Hidalgo.[8] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Yir Tangee was first mentioned in Heroes & Rogues, a 1995 roleplaying sourcebook written by Rick Stuart and Paul Sudlow for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[9]
