EV Droid The Mandalorian
"Ah, good. New acquisitions. You are a protocol droid, are you not?"
"I am C-3PO—"
"'Yes' or 'no' will do."
"Oh. Well, yes."
―EV-9D9 and C-3PO — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)
EV-9D9 (Eve-Ninedenine), also known simply as 9D9, was a feminine MerenData EV-series supervisor droid who, originally a peaceful, hardworking moisture vaporator mechanic, had a programming defect that made her enjoy tormenting and dismembering other droids. She was acquired by the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who made her chief of his palace's cyborg operations after a reprogramming, where she oversaw its droid pool with the assistance of her smelter droid devotee, 8D8.

When Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker gifted Jabba the astromech droid R2-D2 and protocol droid C-3PO in 4 ABY, EV-9D9 assigned them positions in her master's droid pool. She was temporarily deactivated and repurposed as a service droid after Jabba's demise, coming to serve as a bartender at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley. Around 9 ABY, Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin entered the establishment looking for work, but the droid informed him that the Bounty Hunters' Guild no longer operated from Tatooine and that no jobs were available. Bestine IV

(Taken to FA by Braha'tok enthusiast on September 21, 2023)

BestineIV-BountyHunters28
"You have someplace else you'd rather be stationed?"
"Someplace drier, sure. Besides, nothing ever happens on Bestine."
―Two shoretroopers on Bestine IV, moments before their deaths
Bestine IV was a water-covered planet located in the Inner Rim Territories' Bestine system. One of the key members of the Galactic Republic by the time of the High Republic Era, it served primarily as an agricultural world, hosting starship manufacturing facilities as well. Bestine was also part of a lommite ore shipping route that connected the planet Eriadu to the Core Worlds. During the rise of the Separatist Alliance, the Separatist leader Count Dooku expressed threats to the security of the lommite shipping route via Bestine to Eriadu's governor, Wilhuff Tarkin.

Bestine IV remained loyal to the Republic during the Clone Wars against the Separatists, hosting a Republic Navy fleet. After the war ended with the Separatists' defeat, the Republic became the Galactic Empire and brutally annexed Bestine. The new government built a naval shipyard on the local island of Jahnae to help quell potential rebellions in the Inner Rim. The new base was unpopular with the locals and forced many, including the merchant Jek Porkins, to leave. During the Galactic Civil War, in 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance's Twenty-First traveled to Bestine as part of a coordinated rebel effort.

In Bestine IV's Bsellis City, Sergeant Mey Kilrow of the local Bestine Security Force kept a protection deal with the planet's most ruthless gang, the Nova Razors. A warrior visited the neighborhood where the gang operated and attacked its headquarters, defeating the gang leader and many of his thugs. Learning of Kilrow's corruption, the warrior then sought to end it.

Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn hired a crew of bounty hunters led by T'onga to help insurgents on Bestine IV stop an Imperial munitions shipment. The Empire learned of the syndicate's plan, and a team led by the cyborg mercenary Beilert Valance was sent to set a trap for the attackers. The trap was sprung during the attack, and Valance and T'onga, two old allies, found themselves in a confrontation. There, T'onga revealed to Valance that the people the latter was working with the Empire to protect had already been taken or killed.

Angered about being lied to by the Empire, Valance killed the Imperial shipment's shoretrooper security force and had the transport fly into the base on Jahnae, destroying it. Valance used the base's destruction as bait for the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who arrived on the planet to confront the mercenary. The two fought, with Vader ultimately defeating Valance, and TIE/sa bombers bombed the village on Jahnae. Imperial Lieutenant Jyala Haydenn then shot the mercenary, sending him dropping off a cliff. T'onga and her crew then found Valance alive and took him offworld. (Read more…)

"So what exactly did the kid say that set you off, Col? In all the excitement I missed that."
―John D. Branon, asking Col Takbright what Luke Skywalker had told him during the briefing
John D. Branon was a young human rebel pilot who was a member of the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. While stationed on the moon Yavin 4, Branon and other pilots would lecture fellow pilot Col Takbright following the latter's emotional outbursts. He was later curious to learn what had occurred between Takbright and pilot Luke Skywalker in General Jan Dodonna's briefing prior to the Battle of Yavin. Through his insistence, Branon successfully coaxed him into revealing the fact.

He was later selected to participate in the battle as part of Red Squadron, members of which considered him a veteran, under the callsign Red Four by the squadron's leader, Garven Dreis. During the battle, Red Squadron broke away from formation to draw enemy fire away from the accompanying Gold Squadron. Branon then came under fire from one of the TIE fighters that had arrived and was killed when it shot down his X-wing. (Read more…)

"I can take Lluda in my Y-wing. It’ll be a tight, uncomfortable ride, but we can fit."
―Zorii Bliss — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)
The Comeuppance, otherwise known as Zorii Bliss's Y-Wing, was a modified BTA-NR2 Y-wing starfighter owned by Zorii Bliss, leader of the Spice Runners of Kijimi. Bliss purchased the Y-wing for around 40,000 credits after the First Order began raiding the planet Kijimi by 33 ABY. In 35 ABY, Bliss escaped Kijimi in the Comeuppance before the Sith Eternal destroyed the planet on the orders of Darth Sidious, taking the droidsmith Babu Frik with her. She later joined up with the Resistance in the Comeuppance as a member of the Citizens' Fleet at the Battle of Exegol. (Read more…)

Unidentified moon

"We're caught in that moon's gravitational field."
―Rex, to Ahsoka Tano — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)
An arctic and rocky unidentified moon was located in the galaxy. Shortly after the initiation of Order 66 in 19 BBY, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Tribunal, which had been carrying former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, fell out of hyperspace above the moon after the former Sith apprentice Maul, previously a prisoner on the vessel, destroyed its hyperdrive. Caught in the moon's gravitational field, the Star Destroyer was set on a collision course. Tano and Clone Commander Rex managed to escape before the starship crashed, but the remaining clone troopers aboard were killed.

Around 17 BBY, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, Imperial forces led by the Sith Lord Darth Vader visited the crash site of the Tribunal, where Vader discovered the abandoned lightsaber of his former apprentice. (Read more…)
