- "The job? It's simple. Help us cause a little trouble for the Empire—specifically on a planet with an Imperial outpost barely keeping peace over a local populace that doesn't want them there."
- ―Margo, to T'onga
A major Imperial naval base,[2] also referred to as an Imperial outpost,[4] was located on Jahnae on the Inner Rim Territories planet Bestine IV.[2] Serving as a shipyard, it was constructed by the Empire to quell rebel incursions in the Inner Rim after the region saw much Separatist Alliance activity during the Clone Wars.[5] It was rumored to be a research and development facility where weapons of war were made. The presence of the base drove off many locals[2] including the independent merchant and future rebel pilot Jek Porkins to abandon Bestine IV.[6]
Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[1] the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn learned that the outpost was barely keeping peace over its local populace, which according to Margo, did not want the Galactic Empire there. Margo later provided the bounty hunter T'onga, who was in need of credits for her crew,[4] with a job to intercept an Imperial shipment of munitions that was being sent to the base to use and crush a local insurrection,[2] in the hopes it would upend the fragile balance between the Empire and the Bestine population.[4] The base was destroyed after the transport was sent to the base at full speed after T'onga's crew, along with help from Beilert Valance, who had gone rogue from the Empire, defeated the Imperial defenders of the transport.[7]
