  1. · It's been a wild year for the bureaucrat team, and with Tommy's recent resignation, there were big shoes to fill. We, however, are finally in a position where there are multiple fantastic candidates to take the spot, and I'd like to nominate Ayrehead02 for the role. Few people here have the Wookieepedia experience that Ayre has, and with almost three years of administrator experience under his belt, he's been able to showcase his leadership skills and passion for the wiki's mission and community like few others. He's constantly involved in the inner workings of the wiki, being responsible for the insanely well-researched FFG policy, as well as being a prominent member of the review boards and a talented status article writer. I've also never seen Ayre lose his temper with anyone, and he's been instrumental in our new recruitment and training initiative by writing the second tutorial in our new series. He has also been a big proponent of our new inclusive and compassionate culture. I fully trust Ayre to represent the wiki to the public and to stand as an example to the rest of the Star Wars fan community, and to the rest of us Wookieepedians, of the kind of character and professionalism we aim for here. 4. Absolutely. Ayrehead deserves this leadership position without a doubt. He's involved in so many aspects of the site including reviewing, nominating, and helping out new users, and he has pretty good taste in characters, too. Congrats Ayre! 5. Several months ago, Ayre was one of the first people I reached out to during some difficult times as someone I trust on a personal level, and trust to lead and represent this community. When I was asked who I felt would make a good bureaucrat, he was one of the names I put forward. I'm so happy to see him get an official nomination now. 6. · As Fred said, Ayre has an incredible amount of experience on this site and knows how it works. Besides having experience, he's also a respected member of the community and is always committed to help. I know that if I need advice on how to deal with something, I can count on him to help me out. He's an excellent choice to represent this community, and I look forward to continuing working alongside you. Congrats Ayre! DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:35, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

  11. · Ayre is absolutely a great candidate for bureaucrat. He is exactly the kind of person that a BC should be; experienced, responsible, highly involved across the wiki, welcoming and helpful to new and longtime users alike, and level-headed. I have 100% faith in his ability to represent the site. Congratulations, Ayre! Carsamba would be proud :P Zed42 (talk) 10:07, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

  24. · Ayre, Ayre, Ayre. I've worked alongside Ayre for many years now, back to the earliest days when the Educorps really first took off under EJ. You've come so far since then, and I'm proud to have known you along the way. To steal a comment EJ made on that nomination, "Ayrehead is still a little rough around the edges, but given more time and experience I believe he will make a fine EC.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest.svg (Greetings) 16:06, September 7, 2013 (UTC)". Not two months later, he was admitted, and has come so far since. That EC went on to become one of the best leaders the site has ever seen. From the early days of irc, to modern day discord, you have always represent the best of us; calm, level headed, approachable and knowledgable with a passion for helping people. Since the incident, I've also had the pleasure of getting to know you even better, and I'm proud to call you a friend. This is a golden age for the site, and I can think of none better than you, Fred and ecks to lead us into a bright future! Supreme Emperor Holocomm 23:37, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Optional candidate Q&A

To get away from tradition, I'm going to leave this blank, as I've already had extensive conversation with Ayrehead. Instead, I'm leaving this open for other users to ask questions, if they see fit. When doing so, please start your question off as a part of a numbered list and sign each question. Thank you! MasterFredCommerce Guild(talk) 06:10, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

  1. What led to your love for Hobin Carsamba? Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 08:49, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Aside from it having become a fun running joke at this point, I think Hobin is really a strong representation of the articles I will always love most: extremely minor film characters who appear for like half a frame with an interesting design and a dumb name established in some reference book or card game. If they're aliens or some kind of non-aligned scum and villainy then all the better. For those familiar with the term, I will basically always champion the Glup Shittos of the world. Ayrehead02 (talk) 14:27, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
  2. What Wook article (aside from Hobin :P) are you proud of writing the most? Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 08:49, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Ben Quadinaros is an article I'm proud of because I know it's something that will be useful to the most people. Even my friends who are only casual Star Wars fans know who that character is and might try and look him up to check something. On the other hand, Vizam will always have a special place in my heart as the first film article I ever nominated. Prior to the new canon, I had always dreamed of nominating film articles, but was always so anxious that I was missing a source that I never built up the courage to go through with it. The canon reset meant I suddenly had a chance to go for it (because at the time there was like 2 canon sourcebooks) and seeing that first film nomination pass felt like it opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. I know that film nominating is still intimidating for a lot of users, and admittedly still wouldn't advise anyone start with those kind of noms, but I hope I've helped and will continue to help folks similarly achieve the goals on this site and would encourage others to do the same and cooperate on projects with others. Ayrehead02 (talk) 14:27, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
  3. Is there anything you regret from your time here (I'll leave this intentionally ambiguous)? Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 08:49, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Without getting into any specifics, I think there have been times in the past where I let poor behaviour or poor practice slide, or even became complicit, simply because I didn't want to stick my neck out. I realise now that we're much stronger as a community when people, especially those in a position of power, are willing to raise new ideas, question old ones that could be improved, or speak out about issues. Cultivating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable and safe doing that is extremely important and something I think should always be a priority for the community of this site. We've made amazing leaps and bounds in this recently and I'm really proud of the way this community has developed and look forward to what more we'll go on to achieve. I of course also deeply deeply regret this. Ayrehead02 (talk) 14:27, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
  4. I've made a point in the past to not cast my vote before offering a least some avenue for the candidate to express themselves. Well, thanks to Braha'tok, some of that is covered, but why not look at SE what you're the proodest both in regard to yourself and Wookieepedia in general? And what are you looking forward for the future of our encyclopedia and community? --NanoLuukeCloning facility 09:06, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
I don't love tooting my own horn, so I'll start with the harder part: talking about what I'm most proud of in terms of myself. During my time editing Wookieepedia, my writing, communication, and leadership skills have all improved, often as a direct result of my involvement here and the guidance of this community. I've come along way since my first hesitant edits to minor articles and have grown a lot as a person. Several people have kindly said here that I'm level-headed, but that certainly isn't something that was always true, it's something that I've worked on consciously and I'm proud of the progress I've made in that and many other regards. I'm also proud of the ways in which I've supported others here, be it through advice or collaboration, since I think that that communal spirit is one of the most vital components of the wiki as a whole.
What I'm proud of Wookieepedia as a whole achieving is much easier since there's so many things to mention! The most obvious thing is of course the scale and quality of the work that so many have done here; we provide an excellent resource to so many people; from the most casual fans to authors, actors, and creatives themselves. It is a work we should all be extremely proud of even as we continue to endlessly improve and add to it. Beyond the work itself, I'm extremely proud of the community we have here and am proud to work with all of you and call many of you friends. While I'm honoured to have been chosen as the next BC candidate, I can honestly say that I think any member of the current admin team could have stepped up to the plate, there was no bad choices and I trust all of them thoroughly to guide and support this community. Equally the editor base never ceases to amaze me with their passion, ingenuity, and ability to support one another. Especially in recent months I feel like I've seen great new ideas and projects coming from across the board, with a lot of civil and intelligent discussion even when folks disagree. When things do get heated or divisive, in many cases others have done good work stepping in and cooling things off. We've made great progress in becoming a more welcoming and supportive community to new users as well, and folks like Fred and Supreme Emperor have done fantastic work on our social media and with tutorials and guides in order to connect us to the wider Star Wars fandom and encourage further interaction with the site. I'm excited to see how we continue to evolve and improve from here both as a site and as a community and have absolute faith that the best is yet to come! • Since I have {{User_left}} on my userpage, I am not able to vote here, but I nonetheless wanted to say I believe Ayre will make a fantastic bureaucrat. As previously mentioned, he possesses an incredibly level-headed attitude to all on-site endeavours and has a real drive to better the site and community. Ayre also has a deep understanding of the site's workings and has already shown himself to be a dedicated leader in other areas of the community. In short, he is exactly the type of leader this site needs to reach new heights. Tommy-Macaroni 14:40, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
