The Wonto District was district in the center of the city Mos Eisley on the desert planet Tatooine that included the Ubrikkian Trade Tower, Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina and a bazaar.
Description
A district of the spaceport city Mos Eisley on the desert planet of Tatooine. It was located between the Sandstone Quarter, South Quarter, and Hutt Cartel District in the city. The Ubrikkian Trade Tower was located in the district along with Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina. The district also included a market as well as other services, utilities and dwellings.[1]
History
During 1 BBY[2] the human Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 traveled through the district to Chalmun's cantina to look for a starship to take them to the planet Alderaan after Luke's aunt and uncle were killed by the Galactic Empire.[3]
In 3 ABY,[4] the Twi'lek tailor and Jawa Nizuma Chith merchant operated out of the district next to the Ubrikkian Trade Tower and Chalmun's cantina respectfully. During the same year a Canto Cup Fathier racing betting parlor operated of the district.[1]
Also in 3 ABY[4] the thief Kay Vess broke into several homes and business and stole number of items, including a canto pass game piece, a copy of episode 59 of the Baradium Dynasty holodrama, and the materials to apply a Pa'red patrol paint scheme to a S57 Cardinal speeder bike. Vess and her Merqaal companion shared a meal of Sketto Chuga in the district's market.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Wonto distrct first appeared though unidentified in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope which was released on May 25, 1977. It wasn't until the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws that was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft that the district was identified.[1]
