Weirla used inside information to win big at the fathier tables

In 3 ABY,[1] the owner of The Alcazar, Surat Nuat, began to suspect someone was cheating at the fathier table and hired the scoundrel Kay Vess to investigate the activity for him. She began her investigation by talking to a Rodian gambler near the cantina's fathier table. During the conversation, the Rodian complained about Weirla's winning streak and stating that she must have an inside information. When asked how she could have that, the gambler directed Vess to Weirla's friends at the repair shop.[2]

When Vess arrived at the repair shop, she overheard Weirla's friends complaining about the Aqualish being cheap despite her fathier race winnings. She proceeded to strike up a conversation with the Sullustan and human, during which she learned about the pair installing the arcade machine in the Pyke District. Vess later traveled to the sabacc parlor where she overheard a conversation between Weirla and a droidsmith. During the conversation, Weirla reject the droidsmith's request for credits stating they would both end up dead if she gave them and money.

Weirla broke off the conversation after receiving a message on her datapad. As the Aqualish walked away, Vess had her merqaal companion Nix sneak up and steal Werla's datapad. In the datapad, Vess found a message from directing Weirla to drop off her winnings at a small farm in Myrra Valley. Vess contacted Nuat to inform him of her progress before traveling to the farm to spy on the exchange using her electrobinoculars.[2]

Weirla meet with her contact outside the farm before heading inside the farm building. After sneaking up to the building, Vess over heard the pair talking and confirmed that Weirla was working with the Pyke Syndicate. The conversation ended when Weirla's contact informed her that she had not been careful and that Nuat had begun investigating her before proceeding to kill her with a single blaster shot. Afterwards, Vess reported the Pyke's involvement with Weirla and the race rigging to Nuat.[2]
