Vermingilua was a classification[2] of avian[1] that the small and tubby skura[2] species[1] belonged to.[2] Standing 0.15 meters tall[3] and eating stone fleas and formants in the sea caves of the planet[2] Bal'demnic[4] in the Outer Rim, the skura had long snouts and slabbed-shaped heads.[2]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, vermingilua first appeared in the form of the skura in "Teach / Corrupt,"[5] the sixth episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired July 2, 2024 on Disney+.[6] The script for the episode described the creatures as part anteater, part duck.[7] Skura were then identified as vermingilua in Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, a 2025 reference book by Pablo Hidalgo.[2] In the real world, Vermilingua is the name of the taxanomic suborder made up of all known species of anteater.[8]
