Uyter was a planet located within the Uyter system of the Mid Rim. It was an agriworld with an independent-minded people.
History
Senator Malé-Dee of Uyter
Uyter received many new contracts from the Galactic Republic when Abrion sector seceded.
It was represented in the Galactic Senate by Lexi Dio. Upon her assassination, she was replaced by Malé-Dee from the Visdic province. Both Senators championed decentralized government and the rights of local planetary and sectorial governments. It was this belief in decentralization that led both Senators to oppose the increasing executive power of Palpatine, resulting in Dio's assassination for being too outspoken and in Malé-Dee joining the ill-fated Delegation of 2000.
Uyter became a New Republic stronghold during the Yuuzhan Vong War.[2]
