Malé-Dee was a Human male senator from Uyter near the end of the Clone Wars.
Biography
Malé-Dee in Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's office
A Human male, Malé-Dee was a native of the planet Uyter, hailing from the world's Visdic territories.[1] During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independant Systems, his homeworld's Senator in the Galactic Senate, Lexi Dio, was assassinated, causing the citizens of Uyter to elect Malé-Dee to the now open role.[2] Like his predecessor,[1] he became a member of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's Loyalist Committee.[3]
It was believed by his constituents that Malé-Dee would be less outspoken than his predecessor, and would take her place on the Loyalist Committee. Malé-Dee proved them wrong, however, and he too grew suspicious over Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's growing power over the Senate. Near the end of the war, Malé-Dee joined the Delegation of 2000, which presented Palpatine with the Petition of 2000; this document called for the Supreme Chancellor to relinquish his burgeoned powers at the war's conclusion, and denounced the renewed position of Moff. Palpatine was enraged by the screed, declaring its signatories to be traitors.
Personality and traits
The light-skinned and brown eyed senator stood at 1.68 meters.[1] Malé-Dee's hairstyle, styled in a way that signified a plea for peace, had his red hair start at the top of his forehead and run over his skull before terminating at the nape of his neck.[3] He had a unique appearance[4] and fashion statements were important to him.[2] Compared to Lexi Dio, he was considerably less confrontational and more soft-spoken.[1]
Equipment
Malé-Dee's unique appearance was enhanced[4] by the traditional[2] Visdic body wrappings he wore.[4] The wrappings, denoting his humble roots, were from the Visdic territories of Uyter.[2]
Behind the scenes
Malé-Dee was played by Kee Chan in Revenge of the Sith. Malé-Dee's name comes from his simple identification as "Male Senator" during pre-production character design.[2] Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Scrapbook, written by Ryder Windham[4] and released on April 2, 2005,[5] incorrectly spells his name as "Malé Dee."[4]
