Utapaun flying squid were a species of flying carnivores native to the planet Utapau. They were constantly hungry and not picky in what they devoured, making them a threat to anything else airborne.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Utapaun flying squid was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon by the 2015 reference book Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the flying squid was first mentioned in 2005 references book, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections.[3]
