I need your help

Sir I need your help against admin Toprawa. He has threatened to block me over something i have not done. Vandalism. I believe you now sir. Please help me. I have complained against the admins but they don't believe me. I need your help. Thank you. Please reply on my post and delete this message as soon as you have read this. Wptotjtalk
It's been a good first year.
Thanks for all your efforts thus far, Grae. I've written some other thoughts at Forum:First Anniversary, so feel free to read over it. Cheers, Greyman(Talk) 09:40, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

User Blocking

Hi , i wanted to know why i was blocked for a certain period of time , i checked the reason and it said general vandalism , and was not very specific , i was wondering if you could clarify this , of course i meant no harm and whatever i did might have been an honest mistake , I have to admit i'm a n00b at when it comes to editing wikis and im not very good with the technical stuff , so i apologize if i messed something up ,i was just trying to help. I do own a lot of star wars material so i want to contribute to this wiki , that all , Ascendancy 09:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Rocket page deletion

Hey there. I wanted to create a page for Rocket that I listed under KotOR TSL weapons and tech, but I noticed that such a page had already been deleted twice. My plan was to redirect it to Wrist rocket. Since you were one of the admins that deleted it I wanted to ask you if I should create the page again or maybe do something else. Thanks. * Cylka * 04:07, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Rocket

Thanks for clearing this up for me. You're right that the deletion log stated deletion of unnecessary redirect. I must have read it wrong. I didn't know it was to the missile page. * Cylka * 21:54, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Great Hyperspace War

Hey, Grae. Hm, I have been thinking about one or two projects that I would like to occupy my time with during the month of November, and two jumped to the forefront of my mind—Ulic Qel-Droma (ha, obviously), and the Great Hyperspace War. Now, for the GHW, I was wondering if you think that you, myself, and Acky could get do a joint venture on that project? I'm sure that between the three of us, (your superior skills as an editor, Acky's attention to detail in everything he does, and me and my love for creating conflict/war articles) we could create one damn good featured article (hah, kinda like Qrrrl which was a breeze on the FAN page, iirc). What do you think? Greyman(Talk) 13:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

What's up with my IRC?

I'm not suggesting you had something to do with this, but I have been banned - without any warning or stated reason - from the Wookieepedia IRC. I'm notifying you to see if something can't be done to find out what happened and if it can be reversed. Please see if you or another admin can address this as soon as possible. I will be notifying other admins of this development as well. Erik Pflueger 20px 22:16, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Ozzel objections

Hey Grae, just thought I'd let you know that I have addressed some of your objections, but there are one or two that I have questions on. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 00:24, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Reply

Most of my contributions have been to discussion, but I have made at least 1 minor edit, on Boba Fett's page. I understand this is considered a feeble contribution, understandably not worth mentioning, but I was simply suggesting, and I am a dedicated user, on the site every day. I mainly joined Wookieepedia for the gain of knowledge, and I'll contribute where I can. Jaygo Katarr 14:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Just Want To Tell You

Hey Graestan, I wanted to tell you about my being uncivil thing, I know my block period is over, but I wanted to let you know that I wasn't trying to be uncivil or personally attack him, I do tend to act a bit rashly when things dont go my way or something happens that is like the "Whipe this pathetic page from the face of the galaxy", or the "I object, there is no proof", those things tend to wind me up, but I just wanted to say I wasn't intentionally trying to attack him, just kind of like a, "What the ****, there aren't any droid pages, so may I be able to make a few of them." or something like that.

Marauder 09 20:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Apologies.

As I said, it was a minor edit, I don't know why it didn't show up in my contributions. I apologize, I wasn't trying to come across as a nag, or anything of the sort. I was humble, and not at all uncivil in my request, and all (in my eyes) that was required was your posted result. Instead, I was responded to over-extensively, and I am prefectly fine (If you are,) with letting this go. Simple answer to my question? No. Problem solved, thank you for your time, and sorry for wasting it Graestan. Jaygo Katarr 01:56, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

WP:POINT on userpage

While I do not think that the policy pages explain what you left in my talk page, I reluctantly obey and have editted the analysis to very clearly not ask for discussion. Yes, I have expressed that reluctance, as I don't see how asking for others to help clarify was significantly different from other talk page discussions... aside from taking the time to explain in detail. Still frustrated, but I honestly do appreciate the terse explanation.

However, I do not appreciate you confusing an internet meme that most people I know would associate with me for being disruptive (or anything else from the WP:POINT you left in the edit summary). The "Over 9000" meme is entirely appropriate for my user page. Even for those who don't know me, it demonstrates that I like the "lulz" to other people who know some of the stale internet memes. Unilaterally wiping out such information again just because you may not understand why it's relevant is... well, I guess there's no policy against it, but you could have asked. Try that next time. --Sctn2labor 04:30, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Kreia name change

Hi, Graestan. Due to the comments posted on here, do you think it's a good idea to change the name to Darth Traya? A couple of users and I are currently working on her article on a sub-page of mine. Due to what the book says, I feel strongly that we should change the article's name, but I won't do it unless one of the administrators gives the OK. Please respond at your convenience.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 19:22, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Shipyards of Doom move

I was under impression that while naming the comic issue the colon should not be used between Star Wars and the series title. Exampler are:

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1: Commencement, Part 1
  • Star Wars: Republic 1: Prelude to Rebellion, Part 1
  • Star Wars: Dark Times 1: The Path to Nowhere, Part 1
  • Star Wars: Rebellion 1: My Brother, My Enemy, Part 1
  • Star Wars: Legacy 1: Broken, Part 1

So, I aks you to move the page back or let me do it Mauser 15:38, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

If by "responsible" you mean the move, than no, I didn't move any comic pages except for the latest Clone Wars-related ones. The reason is: while series are titled with a colon separating Star Wars from the actual title, the issues themselves (hundreds of them) only have the colon separating Star Wars <Series Title and Number> from the issue's actual title. The only notable exceprion were the comics from the two new The Clone Wars series, which I actually created myself before I learned of the policy. When I did, I moved them where they belong to. Mauser 15:48, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, what copyright page are you referring to? Mauser 15:49, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I see you continue to update links, have we already resolved this problem? Because other sites (Rebelscum, Dark Horse, even Starwars.com) may name the issues using colons and dashs, but Wookiee seem to follow a different policy. Mauser 16:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I just opened the latest issue of Legacy and the copyright page says Star Wars: Legacy #29. Should I move it, too? Mauser 16:04, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
That's what I was afraid you would say. Because that way we should move most of the Dark Horse Comics to match the titles printed inside the actual issues. Not that all this colons and dashes actually make the difference, I'm just worried about the unification issues. Does the official policy say something about that? Mauser 16:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I think I'm done arguing with an administrator, but maybe we should make a CT to establish the actual policy? Mauser 16:19, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey, there's no negative light at all! It's just I'm trying to bring similiar articles to similiar titles, that's all (that, and the fact that you filled my watchlist with 100+ minor edits =) )Mauser 16:44, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Robot

Allow me to give you a demonstration of the word called robot, VADER AND GRIEVOUS! Vader got burnt and woke up rebuilt as a robot with robot legs and arms.

Also allow me to give you the definition of the word clone, ALL CLONES INCLUDING CAPTAIN REX, CODY AND ALL ARCS ARE CLONES OF BOBA FETT!(Green Greens 01:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC))

      • Yes, I daresay they even said that in the movie. XD Graestan(Talk) 14:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Forum

  • I was going to check with you in IRC, but you left before I could get to it. Anyway, I restricted your NB forum to admins only, which I believe is what you wanted—discussion only among the mods. If you want, change it at will, and sorry if I stepped on your toes any by restricting it. Cheers. ;-) Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 20:37, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Lepus Carnivorus

Hmmm, is this a case of canon though? The comic doesn't really differentiate between capital letters and lower case letters, and that's the only place that "Lepus Carnivorus" actually appears. So...can't we infer that the second word should not be capitalized? Cull Tremayne 06:37, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Since it's been brought up, I think we should follow the "most common name used" rule here, which I think would put the article at Lepi. I'd suggest talking this out on the article talk page, to determine when "Lepi", "L.C.", and "L.c." are used. (If we followed real-world practice in lieu of canonical usage, we'd probably use the common name "Lepi" as the title rather than the scientific name, much as we'd use "Human" for an article title even if the term "Homo sapiens" was used in canon somewhere.) —Silly Dan (talk) 13:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Gobee

Per Cull Tremayne's note after yours on my talkpage, I only replaced that template (not revert) because his objection said to. To assume that it was done to "prove" some sort of point is a stretch; even unfair, especially without having even talked to me to find out my reason for doing so. If you'll notice, the other article you made the same objection, Battle of Iziz, on remains unchanged, even with me going so far as to say ow much i don't like that temlplate anyway. UnlessI read it wrong, this situation doesn't appear on that page you linked on my talk, either. I only did as you've always known me to do with FANs: address objections with little or no resistance. Given the circumstances, is your "warning" still valid?—Tommy928117px (Peace is a lie) 08:55, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Gobee

Please point me in the direction of the rules which you deem I should know better as an Inquisitor than to break. I've searched around for something, and the FAN talkpage dialogue that Ackbar linked on my talkpage is helpful, but not quite what I'm looking for as far as citing rules. Thank you.—Tommy928117px (Peace is a lie) 15:23, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

The Mando guy

Hey, Grae. I've finished Mandalore the Indomitable's article, so if you could give it a thorough copy-edit like you mentioned yesterday, I'd appreciate it as always :) Thanks in advance, Greyman(Talk) 21:48, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Oh, and don't worry about the numerous redlinks — I'm going to bust those before actually nominating the article for FAN :) Greyman(Talk) 21:49, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Droid Flame Thrower

I was thinking, could I make the Droid Flame Thrower page again without mechanics. Like instead of making the page like

  • Damage: Heat, 30pts
  • On Hit: Horror 100%, 3 sec.
  • Save: DC25 Half-Damage, Targets with a Level 7 or above automatically negate Horror effect.
  • Range: Short

Make it like:

The Droid Flame Thrower was a special droid weapon only usable by droids, it dealt great damage, taking off 30 or 15 vitality points off of a target and dealing them with a 3 second Horror effect that couldn't be prevented unless the targets level was at 7 or above, but however, the Droid Flame Thrower was a short range weapon and was only good for 10 uses.

And do you like new messages at the top or bottom of your talk page? So then if I have to message you again I'll know where to put it. Marauder 09 01:19, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Ya, the test succession box still apparently still has a bug or two in it depending on resolution (I think?), so I'll have to fix that before/if it goes live eventually. Anyways, I took it out of Mandalore's article since I was using it just as a test for the revision history :) Likewise, I've nominated Mandalore's article for FAN, but since I'm also leaving for Afghanistan again today, could I ask you to look after it's nomination for me over the next few days as well as those periods of time where I can't access the Internet? I know you would have anyways without me asking, but I wanted to ask just in case :) Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it. Talk to you soon, Greyman(Talk) 15:14, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Grae. I responded to your objections to Willer Clines' House. Let me know what you think re the capital H. I'm not too fussed either way. --Eyrezer 17:19, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Excessive force is HIGHLY unnecessary.

I read your policies and I saw NO reason for you to delete my post. The entire wiki franchise is based off of free editing and format. I saw nothing wrong with what I'd written as I was extremely careful not to offend or write anything out inaccurate. I was stating that if Galen had perceived things differently, as all Jedi before the New Order (save for Qui-gon Jinn) have fallen prey to, then he could have easily killed Palpatine without falling to the dark side. It's an observant fact, not flaming nor is it spam. But it's not like what I have to say has any value in your high and mighty wiki-base now does it? Whatever, i don't care anymore...

Nevermind

I'll reform... Sorry for the harsh words. Looks like I didn't read every single policy, it seems. Won't happen again.--NtechG 17:09, 24 December 2008 (UTC) NtechG

If so, you really shouldn't throw it around so casually. Perhaps you should take a closer look at yourself. Accusing others of trolling is often an act of hypocrisy. Wondering

Hey there. Just wondering why you made this reversion. I'm guessing it has something to do with it being a featured article, but I wanted to check because "off of" is actually improper in English, since it's two prepositions in a row. Is there some rule about correcting grammar in FAs I should know about? Thanks! Wildyoda 03:36, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Darth Azard

Hey Graestan :), I had a go at addressing your objections on the article, if you could check I addressed them all properly :). I was wondering if you could do a similarly thorough review of the Darth Maleval article when you have the time? Thanks Graestan :-). Grunny (Talk) 08:16, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Missing in action :(

Sorry, Grae; had a bit of a heavy weekend. However, I did have chance to go through the fact files. END29 from issue 79 makes mention of Lando leading a "strike force of rebel fighters" to destroy the Death Star after the shield was dropped, so that probably qualifies as an indirect mention. I also checked the CWSE for any Green Squadron references, but found nothing other than the fact that they were an A-wing unit at Endor. Curiously, there is an entry for a Green Wing, quoted as being one of the four main starfighter battle groups at Endor as well, and also being the callsign for Green Leader's second in command. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 08:19, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Gavyn Sykes

Please read my last post at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Gavyn_Sykes#Shield_generator:_Movie_vs._game_mechanics and kindly revert to the previous version. The version you have locked in is factually wrong. The Sykes character's most famous outing was in the game Battle for Naboo and in that game the grand finale involves Sykes destroying the shield generator. That information has been all but removed from the article, and it has been locked without it! That is clealy, plainly, absolutely, not the right move! —Unsigned comment by Ewik (talk • contribs)

  • I'm not going to unlock the page until I see a peacefully concluded discussion on its talk page; otherwise the version I saw it at remains for the next month. Graestan(Talk) 22:23, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
  • I understand your points. But FWIW it seems the discussion has concluded there. Nobody in any of the points on that Talk page has disagreed that Sykes destroys the shield generator in the game. As we are all therefore in agreement, please kindly revert to the previous edit which states this. You can leave it locked if you want, as long as you don't intentionally leave an erroneous non-canon article live for a month. —Unsigned comment by Ewik (talk • contribs)
  • He doesn't destroy the shield generator in the film. That's what matters. Whatever happens to a game mechanic device in a game, is not relevant. This encyclopedia doesn't have game mechanics as an override to story elements. Or maybe the characters of TPM shrunk their bodies and rode atop miniature versions of their respective vehicles in Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing? ;) VT-16 07:29, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
    • @Graestan: Sure thing. I think I put the info on the shield destruction in the bts section, which should be sufficient. That's usually where game mechanics are mentioned whenever there's a clash with non-game sources. VT-16 07:47, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Let's not clog up Graestan's page. The discussion continues back at the article talk page, where I have had to quote this site's polciy and why the current edit breaks with policy. Please continue there, thanks.
  • At least I'll have a new source for the article. =) VT-16 19:54, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

AC Meeting Six

AC Meeting Six has been scheduled for Sunday, February 15. If you cannot attend, we ask that you leave your notes on the meeting page. Thank you. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 23:35, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

One more source for Green Squadron pilot

Hey, Grae; while I was checking out the FFs for more Salm info, I came across this in the A-wing entry. (AWI1-2, issue 13): "Green Squad flyers scored many enemy kills during the Battle of Endor." Might be worth including within the article. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 08:54, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

No problems. I'll give it the once over when I've wrapped up working on my own FAN/GAN objections. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 09:06, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Re:Sturn

I went through and added some context throughout the article; let me know if I missed anything. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 15:35, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Grebleips

Didn't want to go too off-topic on the GAN page. Like I said, sorry about the rather brisque revert and summary. When I saw it, I saw that it was exactly the sort of P&T that I was afraid of—that is, where we have actions that are clear and probably lead to a particular motivation, claiming he had the motivation itself is still an assumption—and I didn't think to look at the GAN page, so after seeing you weren't in IRC at the moment I probably dashed for the undo button a little quicker than was necessary. I mean what I said on the page: I'm not unwilling to have a P&T in principle, and I am willing to talk about possibilities—it's just that I'm afraid that the only possible ones are, in fact, ones that draw conclusions on his motives that aren't necessarily supported by the text. - Lord Hydronium 02:13, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Wikia forum concerning you

Sorry to bother you, but I felt that you need to know this since you're the subject of it. The user Ewik posted a forum on Wikia called w:Forum:Appealing a block?. He's angry due to his block and wants Wikia to do something about; however, I think that this would be better resolved if you handled it. --Michaeldsuarez 10px (Activate Holocron) 17:21, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey, just so you know, I recommended Hanzo Hasashi to you for P&T help if he needs it; he currently wrote the article Wallen for his first GAN nom, and he is unsure on how to write a P&T with little to no information. Cheers, DC 21:52, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Very Angry Final Warning from a Member of the Administration

I, Cylka the Committed (and possibly needing to be committed), humbly thank Graestan the Mighty, Merciless, and Wise, for the honor he has bestowed upon me. It is in no small part due to his rather not so dubious support that I have been able to sally forth. Cylka-talk- 01:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Senate Hall and sources

Hi, Graestan. I noticed you deleted Forum:SH:Podracing Tales as "Off Topic". Is it not OK to discuss locating sources on-wiki? I needed the source Podracing Tales for the Swokes Swokes article, and I was having a really hard time finding it. As it was a freebie on the internet, I didn't think it would be a bad idea to ask around on-wiki to see if anyone knew where it was. But now you have deleted the topic, and it makes me wonder if I stepped out of line. Can you please explain why the topic was deemed off-topic? ~ SavageBob 22:05, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Italics

As you were one of the individuals involved in the recent discussion on italics vs. quotation marks, I've dropped by to let you know I started a Consensus Track thread, Forum:CT:Italicizing article and short story titles, to sort it out. jSarek 20:23, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Question

Hey,

By any chance, do you still have the page where this image came from available for upload? If so/possible, can you email it to me please? I was looking for an image from that exact page (and several others from that particular comic). Please advise, thanks.—Tommy 17px (Nine two eight one) 15:46, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Greyman e-mailed that to me. Graestan(Talk) 15:47, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

You blocked my friend

Yeah I just saw that you blocked my buddy User:JangoFett. That was not a personal attack. I demand that you lift the ban. He was just stating an opinion. And as long as you are defending me try and do something about the assholes who keep blocking my questions on the Knowledge Bank cause I am getting pissed.User:Revanthereformer1138

Re: Award

I, Soresu the Makashi, am honoured to be awarded with the Pit Droid Award of Diligence by Graestan the Merciless, the High Overlord of Wookieepedia and All Realms Therein. I will endeavor to increase my contributions to the site, and continue herding newbies on Knowledge Bank. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 05:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Signature

Is this about me not using SUBST and directly using the template? My sig is extremely long, which is why it's like that, but if you would prefer it, I'll have the randomized message removed and do it the old way again. Otherwise, I'll just add w:c:starwars: to it, like with Culator's sig. Thanks for your support in WOTM, BTW. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 06:54, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Users may not have a problem with it, but it seems that Wikia does. It's too long, and won't be accepted by my preferences. Should I just leave it as it is then, or take out the randomisation? SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 07:04, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
    • I defer to the High Overlord's wisdom once again. Done. I'm telling you now, though, it's going to look ugly. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 07:11, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Contact

Yeah, why did you ban me for defending my friend? What do you mean by wookieepedia is not a game? He did nothing wrong. All he did was talk to me about my apology. It should only be considered a personal attack if the person who is "attacked" confirms it. I have never vandalized any article on wookieepedia. I respect the articles and I simply state my opinions on talk pages. And if this is simply about all the weird stuff I put on my homepage then just say the word and I will remove it. I simply saw that alot of other users have fanfics autobios and other stuff. I also thought that I should lighten the mood on my homepage since I was always being so serious. Yeah, I get a little hotheaded sometimes but just tell me what you banned me for.revanthereformer1138

No problem, I'll look those up for you when I get home from work. DolukTalk 00:21, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

re: CSWE

  • OK, here's what I got:

Bek-Vulkar War: no entry for the conflict itself, but here's what it says about the Hidden Beks and the Black Vulkars: Hidden Beks: "One of the smaller gangs on Taris that struggled to make a name for itself against the Black Vulkars four millenia before the Battle of Yavin." Black Vulkars: "A swoop gang on Taris at the time of the Mandalorian Wars. They were rivals to the Hidden Beks." Brejik: no entry. Gadon Thek: no entry. Revan: nothing at all that mentions the Beks, the Vulkars, or even swoop gangs, let alone the conflict between the gangs. Not overly helpful, I know... See also what I put on User talk:Cylka. DolukTalk 04:36, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Hey Grae. According to the information that Doluk left on my talk page, there isn't any new information to be had from the CSWE. I asked him to look up fairly long list of entries, with him even looking up further entries, and nothing. Cylka-talk- 09:16, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Sloppy Lutrillian

Hi, Graestan. I was happy to see Lutrillian taken off probation. I checked the log of the Inquisitorius meeting, and I saw that you think parts of the article are sloppy. Can you point out what you're referring to? I'm still not up to speed on all best practices of Wookieepedia, so I'd like to be sure I'm doing everything correctly. Thanks for any pointers! ~ SavageBob 03:29, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Ah, OK. No worries. I wasn't offended, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. For the record, what should be done with the continuity link? Thanks again, ~ SavageBob 22:15, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi John! I noticed you guys started using a Wordpress blog a coulpe weeks ago to document goings-on for the wiki.
