"I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men…but the women, and the children, too. They're like animals! And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!"
―Anakin Skywalker reveals his feelings toward poor Good articles[src]

Get ready, AC members, for Meeting Five. This meetings marks the beginning of our review of Character articles. Because there are so many, we're going to have to divide the Character review into two or even three meetings. We're holding this meeting back on our original time, Sunday afternoon, Jan. 18th, 4 PM EST for North American users. Please do your best to show up. If you cannot show up, we highly encourage you to still leave your mark in the Notes section below. You can still leave your two cents on the articles being looked at, which will be taken into consideration at the meeting.

Agenda

Probed articles

Voting on whether or not to strip the probed articles from Meeting Four:

Character articles for review

Due to time constraints, I've limited this review to 25 Character articles. I ask that no one add anymore beyond the 25 limit. If some of these are handled and stricken before the meeting, feel free to add new articles in their place. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:21, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Hermione Bagwa - Unsourced infobox and biography items. No P/T. Everything just seems a little skimpy, especially the BTS. Probably not a huge fix, but it would definitely benefit from someone taking the time to improve this one.
  • Sio Bibble - Just a number of minor fixes. Unsourced infobox, references aren't all linked. The Fact Files should be more specific for an individual issue. Source list not in correct order.
  • Depa Billaba - Nothing is sourced.
  • Buboicullaar - Unsourced references for an easy fix. It seems like the biography could be fleshed out a little more, even for as short as his anthology story is, but maybe I'm wrong.
    • No, you're right. This is one of my earlier articles that's not very good. It's only my list of things to redo at some unknown point in the future, but in the mean time it should be de-GAed. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 01:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Xandel Carivus - Unsourced infobox and succession box. Should be easy enough for someone knowledgeable
    • I should be able to take care of this, most likely tomorrow. Grand Moff Tranner Imperial Department of Military Research (Comlink) 23:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Antoher thing. It has no BTS. DC 04:00, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Jorus C'baoth - I think this article does well to exemplify what a "broad-coverage GA" should be. Over 1,000 words, but not enough detail to be an FA. Still, some very minor infobox sourcing issues, and it should have a Powers and Abilities section.
  • Chaf'orm'bintrano - Needs a P/T.
  • Tsui Choi - Infobox and article sourcing issues. Could use a P/A, I assume?
    • Per what I said under Bubo above, though I'll see if I can do a quick spruce-up to keep it above standards. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 01:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Kaleb Darme - No P/T or BTS.
  • Samhan Dobo - I'm calling this one out for having information exclusive to the introduction, not found in the biography anywhere. A simple fix for someone knowledgeable.
    • I believe that Goodwood fixed his article. Cylka-talk- 12:44, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Daultay Dofine - Weak sourcing
  • Dorsk 81 - Weak sourcing
  • Giles Durane - No sourcing
  • Durrei - No BTS. P/T and P/A?
  • Energizer Bunny - Some really poor speculation and OR. Serious MOS issues.
  • The Envoy - No sourcing. The BTS claims that it is unclear whether she's a Jedi, but the entire article treats her as one. Not so good.
  • Valenthyne Farfalla - Unsourced infobox, paragraph in the bio, succession box. No P/A section.
    • I have since handled all outstanding issues, but see my notes on the page.Tommy Dark Side Master TotG (Nine two eight one) 23:07, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Melvin Fett - Unnecessary speculative bits that should be cleaned up.
  • Herrit - No P/T.
  • Tresk Im'nel - No P/T, BTS
  • Irek Ismaren - Lots of relics of a bygone era of article quality. No infobox sourcing, unlinked references, no P/T, no BTS.
  • Shimrra Jamaane - Unsourced infobox, fact tag, unsourced bio paragraph, unsourced succession box. "Physical appearance" section should be merged into the P/T per MOS. Unlinked references.
    • Fixed the major issues in the article, should be good now. DC 03:46, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
      • It still looks very light on detail/short to me. 20 KB for a character that, if he was written by say Harrar (or anyone, really) for FAN he'd be well over a 100, methinks. You guys' call, of course, whether or not what's there is GA standard. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 13:02, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
        • I have no concept of anything Yuuzhan Vong-related. It's over 1000 words, and it looks to me that it meets the "broad coverage" requirement for a GA. If another AC disagrees and would still like to review this at the meeting, they are more than welcome to unstrike. Toprawa and Ralltiir 15:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
          • I disagree, and that's why I unstruck. It could be much more comprehensive, even for GA. Under the new rules, I feel that if falls short of GA status. Chack Jadson (Talk) 22:12, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
            • After thinking about this further, I think it's not that terribly far away. It could use a longer intro, and some more info from The Final Prophecy, and Destiny's Way, specifically. However I do think that the main problem is just that it was GA'd under the old rules, and now, it just isn't detailed enough. This is on my list of future projects, and I plan to start it relatively soon, FWIW. Chack Jadson (Talk) 22:29, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Jin-Jin - No BTS.
    • BTS added. DC 02:00, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  • K'Kruhk - Serious sourcing issues.
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi impersonator - No sourcing, P/T, or BTS.
  • Hoth (comic) - Special non-character addition, per user request. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:12, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Other discussion items

  • Discussing an acceptable period of inactivity after which nominations will be removed. I believe a tentative period of one month was discussed, but I'm not sure anything was finalized. I'd like us to come to a final decision on this, so we all know what we're enforcing here. It seems that we have been working with an unofficial period of 3 weeks, which I personally propose as the time period. Other ideas can be discussed at the meeting. I would also like us to explore inserting some kind of disclaimer in or around the rules on the GAN page the informs/warns nominators that their nominations will be subject to removal due to inactivity after X amount of time. Toprawa and Ralltiir 22:30, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Users who have utterly vanished. Time for them to go. Graestan(Talk) 07:37, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Users we should look at recruiting. One person really appears committed to the quality of GAs, so I'd like to nominate them. At least one more prospect besides. Graestan(Talk) 07:37, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Notes

The notes of DC

  1. Kill all probes except
  2. Probe all articles except
  3. I'm going to try extremely hard to make this meeting, but that's just in case I don't make it. DC 03:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
    • I'd say right now that I will most likely make it, but my RL has a nasty habit of scheduling things last minute, so I can't committ just yet. DC 00:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  4. Another thing: I gave Graestan my vote for the upcoming AC prospects.
  5. For the nom inactivity: 3 weeks.
  6. For AC users that have vanished: Off with their heads! Er, I mean, their position on the AC. Graestan has already informed me of the users that are going to get the axe, so I'm decided. DC 00:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

GMT's notes

  1. Kill all probes, minus Taris dueling ring.
  2. Probe all except Sio Bibble, Daultay Dofine, and Jin-Jin.
  3. I might work on Xandel Carivus next week if I get a chance, but probe it for now.
  4. One more thing: I support a policy of "three weeks of inactivity and you're gone," as well as a notice that noms will be removed from the GAN page if the nominator is inactive/hasn't fixed any objections. Grand Moff Tranner Imperial Department of Military Research (Comlink) 18:25, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Minutes

  • Cylka was admitted to the AgriCorps
  • The AC agreed to allow a 3-week grace period for idle nominations with unhandled, outstanding objections before they are subject to a removal vote. Additionally, a disclaimer will be added to the GAN page informing nominators that their nominations will be subject to removal after three weeks.
  • Graestan volunteered for post-meeting paperwork
