Red Guy

No, I was just going by the article here. Kuralyov 02:06, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Why, thank you. Kuralyov 02:11, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Nyl

great job on that article. were you planning to put more images on that? if not i have a bunch of them sitting on my comp. I'll wait for your permission --Razzy1319 05:07, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Droids and the Force article

  • Now I am very confused. I originally asked Abel Pena about it and he said it was in there, but Luxum was never mentioned in my article. Someone else confirmed that Luxum wasn't mentioned so I just thought Abel was mistaken. Strange. Well, remove the comment I guess. Eyrezer 07:28, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
    • This is my version:
"Of course, when the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the Known Galaxy, droid-kind again found itself under assault. This time, however, droids had their High Marshals to defend them. The Iron Knights successfully repelled attacks by anti-technologists such as the Red Knights of Life on the planets Osarian and Uffel and reportedly even saved Kligson's Moon (known as "Droid World") from Yuuzhan Vong attack. However, the decimation of the Hosk space station is known to have prompted the fall of at least one Iron Knight to the dark side."
―Tam Azur-Jamin[src]

Eyrezer 22:57, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Thats bizarre! I guess Luxum's death depends on what fell victim to the temptations of the Dark Side means. Unless you mean the due to the war also claimed the life of Jedi Master Aqinos? Eyrezer 23:12, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I see. I'll ask Abel... Eyrezer 23:18, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
      • I sent him a PM on the Force.Net boards:
"Good question. She probably did die. I'm not a big fan of Jedi "falling" to the dark side and coming back. "Once you start down the dark path..." and all that, after all. Redemption from immersion in the dark side should be the exception and not the norm. That said, I reserve the right to exploit the ambiguity of the text to keep her alive. Take care, Abel"

Eyrezer 00:49, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Our question to Abel got mentioned in his latest blog lol. Eyrezer 05:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I wasn't there at the time but the transcript is here. Quite interesting. Covered a number of topics, including some future work he is thinking of doing. Eyrezer 05:48, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Re: Mazzic

I read in a source somewhere that he may have sith blood in him. Also his chin spike thingies are very similar to the sith. -- Doo Doo 07:55, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Re: Bummer

Amen to that, brother. Kuralyov 23:02, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Oh my god!

Cull, you totally rock. Megaprops for spiffing up Adalric, the underrated crazed Dark-Jedi of the old publishing era (Halagad Ventor, my ass). That was insanely impressive. I don't suppose by any lucky chance you have Shatterpoint? Its characters need a crapectomy.--The Erl of the Cull Tremayne/Archive1 talk What I do 00:03, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Adalric: Emperor's Hand?

In relation to the question you previously asked me, I figured I'd give the quote which may mean either Adalric is an Emperor's hand or not.

"Fable bit her lip, fighting the painful lump rising in her throat. Here before her was the man who seven year ago traded his soul for her salvation, saving from her the cold, bitter touch of the Emperor’s hand. “What has your father done to you?”"
Emanations of Darkness, Part 1, Page 1.[src]

As you can see...it's possible she's meaning that Jaalib saved her from either Adalric, who was an Emperor's Hand or, perhaps, from Adalric offering her into the Emperor's hand when he presented her to him. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 09:06, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Bast castle

Thanks for filling in the details for the statue of vader. I was curious what happened there. --DannyBoy7783 05:45, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Yaddle

Just flipped through the comic and she is not there. There are a few Jedi Council scenes where some seats are in the shadow or covered by speech bubbles, so those concievably might be her, but she is not pictured anywhere. Kuralyov 02:19, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

RE: Order of the Terrible Glare

A lot about the Order of the Terrible Glare was actually covered in the unpublished Cult Encounters of the Star Wars Universe, and it may yet be published as I managed to convince Joseph Bongiorno to attempt re-submitting it to Insider and Hyperspace. :) Incidentally, do you have any contact details (other than this talk page, ie. instant messengers) so I could send you some of the details. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 02:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Added you on MSN Messenger...I'd continue the talk here but...there seems little point if I've added you on it. :P —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 02:24, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Just because I'm leaving you another message....have you read the material? :) And, if so, get on MSN so you can tell me what you though. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 05:28, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Pictures

I'm too tired to read the story just now (as it's 6:30 AM and I've been up all night), but there's 2 more pictures that I think are of Jaalib Brandl from Star Wars Adventure Journal 12 which can be found here (you can see the back of his head...wow) and here. The first is from a meeting with some Imperials (again, too lazy to find out more) while the second is from a meeting with Alex Winger. If these are of Jaalib, then feel free to upload them and add them and, if they're not, then they'll be of Adalric so you could attempt to add them to that page if you like. Oh and damn you for giving me more cut material to add now. :P —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 05:28, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Nagai invasion

There isn't an overview of the conflict anywhere so that would be great! I have been doing what I can but I don't have all the Marvel comics covering the invasion, so am a bit limited. I'm glad to see someone else taking an interest in this part of the saga. --Eyrezer 02:36, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Could you also have a look at the second part of the Hirog article. I don't have the final comics mentioned in the article, so I have based it off the Zeltros Planet Hoppers article. --Eyrezer 22:53, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks for that. Sometimes it's amazing how wrong an article can be even with access to such high quality secondary source materials such as CUSWE, Timetales and the Star Wars Timeline Gold. I guess there's just no substitute for the primary source! As to a name for the camapign Nagai/Tof invasion would do I guess. Or perhaps Nagai/Tof invasionS. Alternatively, call it the Nagai/Tof War. The Yuuzhan Vong invasion is now redirected to the Yuuzhan Vong War here, so perhaps we should follow that lead. That name may suggest it was only between those two, but ultimately that was the source of the war... --Eyrezer 03:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
      • I don't think there was one. I've (painstakingly) whipped up a mock one. Have a look here for a blank one, or I have filled one out here to have a look at. If that is what you want, then I'll find someone to fix the Start/End row to be in equal halves and then put it on a proper page. Again, I'm not sure what to do with the Hiromi though. Actually, on that topic, I have been thinking about Hirog. He is portrayed as this silly, incompent character in the comics, but when you think about what he was trying to do, he is actually a rather cold-hearted terrorist! He's kind of laughed off, but he tries to plant a bomb that will assassinate leaders that have no idea he is working against them. Rather sinister really... --Eyrezer 01:01, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
        • Is that the kind of box you were looking for? Oh and how did the soccer tournament go? been watching much of the World Cup? --Eyrezer 03:46, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
          • No, no change to the template since you were away. Without New Zealand having a team in the Cup, I'm pretty free with my support. Was nice to see Australia do as well as they did, but ultimately seeing them lose wasn't that bad either. Other than that, I'm keeping an eye on England and Germany. Germany because I visited there last year, and learnt the language a bit and know a number of Germans from my old school. England, well, I guess some slim links back to the "motherland" exist! I confess I was supporting Ghana over the US, but they did have a rather unfortunate loss to Brazil—New Zealand played Brazil just before the Wolrd Cup and lost 4 - 0, so not bad really. --Eyrezer 04:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
  • The hours over here are a bit unfortunate, at this stage of the tournament either 3am or 7am. I only have free TV too, which is only showing some of the games, have been watching the 7am games at the mo. Saw France sneak through this morning. I didn't see the USA game no if that is the one you meant. What region does the US have to qualify in? --Eyrezer 04:14, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
    • I'd also like to see Ukraine do well. It's always good supporting an underdog.
      • Yeah, that was the game on at 3am. It was actually shown on TV at 7am, but when you've already heard the result, it's not quite the same. I saw snatches of it as I got ready to go into town but not too much. In terms of the World Cup, the top Oceania team plays off against the 4th South American team to qualify. I think Australia is moving into the Asian region as of next year. I think the rest of Oceania (as much as that is) is remaining as a region. I could be wrong though, but Australia is defintely moving. --Eyrezer 04:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Luke Skywalker on FA

  • Do you mind scratching out the parts of your objections that have been completed to your satisfaction? I mean, I added a whole lot of stuff about the First Corellian Crisis, the Black Fleet, and some of the others, but to anyone who sees it, the objections are still there. Projects

No worries. At the moment I'm mostly doing clean-up because uni exams are coming up soon and I moved out of home leaving my SW stuff behind. However, my next planned project is the Rodian article. At the moment I have started writing articles for specific Rodians characters from the List of Rodians page, the clans, and added a few sections to the main article. Will give it a through going-over when I have the time. Do you have the Shadows of the Empire Planets Guide? There seems to be a lot of info there.

What about you? What's your current project? What did you think of the World Cup Finals in the end? I thought the head-butt was ridiculous. I heard they were looking at a reunion between the two players on Robben Island in South Africa where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years! A bit of overkill I thought :o) --Eyrezer 07:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Oh, and you haven't got Nagai/Tof War as an article you wrote on your user page! It needs to be there. --Eyrezer 08:25, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Should there be a Mission to Herdessa article for the start of the Nagai/Tof War? --Eyrezer 04:49, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Good point. I guess I assumed that she would be but perhaps her failure or exposure in trying to work in established channels at Herdessa made her decide to ally with the Nagai. I don't have the Marvel comics on it, but perhaps the slaving ring encounter with the Nagai on Kashyyyk deserves an article? Don't want to creat work for you though! --Eyrezer 02:34, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
        • Lol, no worries. I thought it was funny to see the comment below asking you to change all the links! Anyway let's hope the article gets featured. --Eyrezer 04:43, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
          • Yeah. It's a bit of a strange issue that one. It just doesn't seem the easiest way to introduce Lumiya, and she seems quite different than how she is later portrayed. --Eyrezer 23:23, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Nagai-Tof War

Hello, please switch all the references to the Nagai/Tof War to "Nagai-Tof War", thereby eliminating the need for the redirect. This is considered polie when moving articles. For a full list of articles needing this change, see this. Thanks in advance. --Imp 15:47, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

What do you mean?

I deleted the Marvel Section on Luke Skywalker? You might have me mixed with someone else.....anyway, nice to meet you! Avian Starr 21:48, 25 September 2006

I never noticed I deleted all of that. I probably added one thing and deleted a whole section with out noticing. I'm not very good at things like this, but I do want to help.

RE: Reasoning?

I have no reasoning for that edit, because I don't recall ever making it. I don't understand how it happened. I remember wierd things were happening on my computer that night. I somehow got into an edit conflict with myself a few times. Anyway, thanks for fixing the article.--Lord OblivionSith holocron30px 02:07, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Battle of Unknown World

I thought I might nominate the Battle on Unknown World (Young Hoth) for deletion considering the discussion about it being only a dream. What do you think? QG no doubt wants it to stay but it seems pretty clear to me its a dream and this is meant to be an encyclopedia. --Eyrezer 08:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Reason

Well, I guess I find the battle interesting, and that it should be part of Wookieepedia. Brain40 09:57, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Hmm... well, you do raise a good point. Should I change my vote to delete? Brain40 11:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Drovian

Hey Cull. I see on your page you say you have most of the essential guides. Is there any chance you could scan the pages on the Drovians (EG to Aliens) and on Nim Drovis (EG to Plantets and Moons) and email them to me? I'd like to complete that article with any info there. --Eyrezer 08:46, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Cool, well we'll see what happens. It's exam time now anyway so I probably shouldn't be here that much! Nice update on Kaox Krul by the way. --Eyrezer 09:22, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Well I'd love to, but I actually have very little knowledge of that era. I only really read Jedi vs. Sith when I found it online, but the link is no longer working so my only source for it is gone! Oh, and I have the shorty story Bane of the Sith but that is of limited application. So I won't really be of much use on the project. --Eyrezer 09:38, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Yeah, I confess. The game is up! That article is really just a glorified gallery for the cool Knights I saw in the background. The goatman is cool, although he looks like he's heading to the dark side. I decided the dragon guy looks quite similar to Dracos for what it's worth. In my mind, at least, they are now of the same species. :o) --Eyrezer 09:46, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
        • Wow, cool idea—except that it will mean the death of those characters. I have hopes of seeing a Marvel Jedi in the Order one day. Flint got the closest of course, but took the wrong path. Sadly The Dream is one that I don't have so have yet to see the training scene. Valiento on TheForce.net boards once posted the dialogue though, which was interesting. There was an unidentified reptilian Jedi trainee in Darksaber but if I recall it was a female. Was there ever any evidence that Dracos was Force-sensitive? I think his article has him in that cat. --Eyrezer 10:00, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
          • That'd be appreciated actually. Out of interest, is Dracos definitely male?? I should be heading off too. --Eyrezer 10:09, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
            • Thanks for the scans, that is really cool actually. --Eyrezer 00:09, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

I do have that one at home. I will have a look when I can but off the top of my head, I think he does die there. --Eyrezer 02:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Another q. DO you know if the pic you uploaded for the Skirmish on Kashyyyk page is of Vargi? He needs a pic on his page and I thought that one could be used. --Eyrezer 02:41, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
    • You're quick!! He looks pretty dead—knife in the chest. I emailed you the scene anyway so you can make up your mind. --Eyrezer 08:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Hey do you have the original Marvel comics or did you get the reprints? Impressive work on Kiro. Just needs a few more pics. --Eyrezer 10:08, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that. But I think I can safely say that Ive got the only sig that actually depicts my namesake. Sorta. Anyway, thanks for the support. .... 10:28, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

My objection

Yes but Grappa still meets all of the requirements for an FA. Look I don't really think it's FA material, I'm just trying to make a point.--Herbsewell 00:35, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Most of those are an opinion which I disagree with.--Herbsewell 03:25, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

No, I'm not saying that. They are both well-written and both cover the subject thoroughly. Look I know what I appreciate and think. Either you respect my opinion or you don't. I'm not going to change it so you can get an article to be considered the best of the best.--Herbsewell 16:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Grappa is a minor character, it's a small article, and even the most avid star wars fans who have never picked up a comic book would not have have never heard of it. Look I could just take my comments off so you can get the article featured.--Herbsewell 21:19, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Look, I took my comments off. You make a very valid argument. I just have some gut feeling against articles that nobody has heard of being considered to be among the best of the best.--Herbsewell 21:39, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Why are you still arguing with me? Grappa is just as covered but's it's not FA material. The only reason Nagai-Tof War will become an FA is because it's long has has some depth.

Prose issues

It's really very minor, a quick fix really, but I didn't want to damage your prose style, so I just left it and objected. It's in the lower section, where the prose tends to become less compelling - I suppose the part where you mention "dressmaker" twice in the same sentence that bothered me. When you fix it up, you will have my full support. .... 02:23, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Oh, that's OK, it just jumped out to me. And with Ankanah...or however the hell you spell it, it was mostly formatting things...ship titles not in italics...more little things, but it's the little things, you know? .... 02:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Palpatine

Then why didn't you back me up when the arguement was raging? J/K :P. But have you read that whole, huge arguement? Erik says he's going to do something to the Conclusions section...hopefully move it down a bit. Anyway, i've agreed to stop arguing about it and accept it for what it is...I sure as hell won't touch it. .... 04:16, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Eh, what can you do? Esp. when you're arguing against Jack Nebulax. That's like arguing with the legal section of your local library. No facts put up against you...just stubborn belief. .... 04:22, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
    • I've sparred with him on Talk:Rune Haako, and in other places. Hell, he even told me "don't call Saxton a wacko". The nerve. But I don't particularly hate him or anything...in fact, sometimes, he's good value for money...but he can be abbrasive. .... 06:04, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Exactly. According to some sources, he's improved - I'd hate to come across him pre-supposed-reformation. In fact, he would be an admin if it weren't for his stubborn denial. .... 06:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

WOTM

To me, WOTM seems to be about momentum. I thought you had quite a bit at the moment with Adlaric just being on th front page and the Nagai-Tof War making it though. Empire Reborn is now ancient history round here! Anyway it looks like Borsk is running away with it. It's funny that it is often the loser of the month before that wins it! As to the comics, I got a number of the 70s ones in an auction here, but the set is incomplete. I noticed that many of the pics you upload are a lot cleaner than my ones and wondered if that was the case. The two I put on Kiro's page could probably be re-uploaded with cleaner versions. --Eyrezer 10:42, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah I voted for Volemlock. That Gamorrean article is incredible, one of the best articles I have seen I think. I never really thought much of those guys but after reading that article I now think they are quite cool, which is probably one of the best tributes you can give to an article. --Eyrezer 11:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Drovian and Bloodlines

Hey Cull, just wondering if you are able to get those scans of the Drovian info for me from EGtPM and EGtAS. ALso have you read Betrayal and Bloodlines? I just finished Bloodlines last night. Was a great read I thought, although I hate what Jacen is turning into. --Eyrezer 02:43, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

  • It's been a while since I read Betrayal now. I remember I also thought it was pretty awesome too. Nice to see some collective Jedi action. This one only really has the main guys. I also really enjoying reading about Fett. I have to say I'm looking forward to soeone smacking down Jacen! Was already thinking of a fanfic for it. lol. Oh and happy thanksgiving. --Eyrezer 04:48, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

It's a wacky community, I tell ya. .... 09:13, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, unlike a lot of people here, I prefer to take it on the chin. I haven't been there this long, and my edit cound doesn't look all that impressive, but I can assure you, most of my edits have got it where it counts. Its usually the wackos that are unstable in the first place - I'm not talking about Jack...I actually consider him to be good value for money, now that I know him a tad better. But what amazes me, is that we have 10 year olds here that act more rationally than "mature" users. .... 09:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for looking through her archives to find that post, I completely forgot about it. Since my memory is bad, I think the reason I didn't show her my page was that I didn't have a page. Quote formatting

Careful with formatting. Take a look at Wookieepedia:Quote of the Day/Archive to see what you're doing wrong. Enochf 22:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Oh, it's real easy, it's just like using strikeouts, so you just bracket everything on the page that isn't the quote with a noinclude and then a /noinclude. Enochf 22:22, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Zuckuss

thumb|right|100px|Zuckuss? I know you are working on Zuckuss, and I saw this pic and wondered if it might be him in Super Star Wars. Dengar and IG-88 are there as well so it is quite likely this is meant to be him. --Eyrezer 10:55, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars Missions

Sure...it's been a while, but I'll check up on it. .... 03:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

  • OK, along with 4-LOM, he waits and ambushes a bounty hunter (the player). They don't go to Vactooine along with the other hunters (Dengar, IG-88, Bossk and the Fett Controler) because their ship is undergoing repairs at the time. The reason the Bounty Hunters are sent out is because Jabba is worried that the army of droids lead by 1-2-4C-41 are trying to kill him. But in fact, they are really after EV-9D9. The bounty hunter defeats 4-LOM and Zuckuss and delivers the news.

Point of interest: Zuckuss is named as a "Gann" in this book. .... 03:35, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

  • So the player character is Fett? Is there a reason given as to why Zuckuss ambushes the player? Is the PC another hunter who is trying to tell Jabba that 1-2-4C-41 is not after him, and Zuckuss and 4-LOM are just trying to protect Jabba? Do you know what the timeline is like for this book? Is it before Yavin or around there?

No, the player character is not Fett, it's ambiguous. You could be Fett, IG-88, Dengar or Bossk. Zuckuss ambushes the player so that he can deliver the news and intel to Jabba and claim the bounty. The player is trying to tell Jabba and claim the Bounty. And apparently, the book takes place in 0-1 ABY. Somewhere in there. As I'm sure you know, the whole timeline of the immediate post-Yavin is very hazy, since there is so much material that does not acknowledge other material set at the same time. And since Missions is fairly obscure, it's not set in stone, timeline wise. .... 03:46, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

    • He's just trying to rob the PC of the info. At least, I think that's what he's trying to do. It may sound lame, but hey, it's Windham. .... 04:09, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
  • No problem...I seem to be the only person who owns these things. But it's heartening to know that other people need this info, and my effort is not in vain. .... 04:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

WOTM Objection

  • This may be slightly semantic, but at least part of your objection to Jaina Solo is invalid. The page you pulled the top 50 most edited pages is wildly inaccurate. Palpatine has over 4000 edits, while Jaina's talk page most certainly doesn't. That page also doesn't include Luke Skywalker, who has over 2500 edits. Clearly, the statistics page (which also happens to have my talk page on it by some strange twist of fate- and that doesn't get used much) is clearly inaccurate. Re:FA Review Board

Hi! Thanks for considering me, after some initial hesitation I now think I would indeed be interested. The Inquisitorius thing is the sort of work I do here anyway, so why not? I'm kinda busy with my studies this spring, but I think I could handle being a member-at-large, if people will vote for me that is. :) So go ahead and nominate me if I'm still needed. --Tinwe 15:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the welcome. :) But if I really am a member-at-large now, then why, oh why, isn't my name on the members list? Am I forgotten right in the very beginning? Ok, enough with the melodramaticism. :) I just reasoned that it would seem a bit, hm, questionable if I added my name to the list myself, so I thought I'd complain to you first. ;) (I should really cut down using smileys, btw. :P) --Tinwe 14:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Hi again, and thanks for adding my name to the list. (I seem to be thanking you a whole lot lately, don't I? :P) I've still got a couple of questions about the Inquisitorius that I'm hoping you could answer. As a member-at-large, how actively am I expected to take part in the discussion at the Inq forum? Should I have something to say about all of the noms, or is it "enough" if I drop by here and then to comment etc.? When should I/am I allowed to vote? Only when I'm acting as as a substitute for one of the "proper" Inquisitors who are absent, or? Here are some for starters. If I come up with more, I'll let you know. ;) --Tinwe 13:36, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Gaaah! Did I really write "here and then"? What I meant was now and then, of course. Feel free to correct my stupid linguistic mistakes, so that I (hopefully) won't do them again. :P Your post did make sense, I'm glad you answered. :) (See, no thanking this time. Instead, too many smileys. Again. ;) See you around! --Tinwe 13:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Image sources

Thanks for sourcing those images for me. To be honest, I'm rather surprised to realise I hadn't sourced the Tunroth images, considering I went through and did it for all my other major articles! Anyway, cheers. --Eyrezer 04:13, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

RE: Forum:Featured Article Reform Proposal

  • I can see what you're trying to do and I agree that the FA process does need an overhaul, hence voting for everything else. I just have some concerns about the Inquisitor idea:
    • I'm aware that there are a lot of objections which never get struck (Imp's got a few on their at the moment and seems to have gone walkabout) and that there is a need for these to be struck off in cases where the objector is nowhere to be found. But, I'd be more inclined to support striking the objection as long as five users agree that it has been addressed with none opposing its removal, rather than limiting that decision to a small group. I'd also suggest that an "objection addressed" message be left on the objector's talk page as well as the FA page before any decision to remove the objection is made.
    • As for the downgrading of FAs. Again, I don't see why this has to be limited to the Inquisitors. With the new, more precise criteria, it should be possible for anybody who thinks article quality has degraded to propose downgrading the article, stating clearly which criteria they think it now fails on. But the decision to act on that should be open to everybody, not just the Inquisitors.
    • I know that part of the argument for this is that the proposed members are the ones who are most frequently involved in the FA process. Given that, if the vote was left open, you'd probably all vote anyway. I have no objection to a WookieeProject or something where people commit to working on FAs but to give specific powers just seeems to elevate those users above the others and, remember, there is no cabal.
    • I also agree that many users, myself included, don't look at FA much. Personally, that's because I've always found it too subjective and only felt comfortable voting on articles I really know well. I think the new criteria make it more objective as they give clearer grounds on which to object or support and this alone would encourage me to get more involved. I doubt I'd be the only one either. Maybe it would be worth trying the other points alone for a time and introducing the Inquisitors later, if it still seems broken.

I think that's all. Thanks for asking me if I wanted to get involved. I'd be happy to commit myself to helping ensure FAs meet a certain level of quality and do intend to look at it more often (having helped get Bria Tharen there has inspired me) but I don't feel that I can be hypocritical enough to get directly involved with an idea that I disagree with, as much as the promise of unlimited power is tempting. Re: FA Review

Thanks for considering me. I don't know if I've been active enough recently to do something like this, but I'd definitely make an effort to put more time in if I were on it. Generally, I've preferred to be more on the writing side than the voting side of the FA process, and to be honest, I'm not sure how appropriate I'd be. I'd be willing to give it a shot, though, and if there's any people still needed I'd be fine with a nomination. - Lord Hydronium 02:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it was funny. Thanks for getting me off of IRC for a minute to do homework. (This user is addicted to Wookiepedia, dammit!) Grand Moff Rhell 02:28, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
