Hey when you get the chance could you give the Assault on the Aparo sector a look. I included the information on the sectors for the respective planets, but I'm unsure if I sourced it correctly. Should it go to our article or link to the alpha category on SW.com? Thanks in advance. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 09:10, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Kriff article

The first sentance was removed because it was fanon. It said: "Some fans like to belive kriff translates to.................." This is the definition of fanon. Also ther is no canon statment saying that kriff translates to F_ _ _or any thing else.(probably because George Lucas wants Star Wars to be clean). If you want to say what Kriff translates to you will have to source it in order to comply with the sourceing policy. Please edit the article so it complies with the fanon and sourcing policies. If you find anything offensive in the presiding message please know the there is no offence intended. General Kenobe20pxcomlink 22:45, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

First of all I would like to thank you for being polite and courteous to me unlike some people. Hear are some words from Wookieepedia:Attribution:

Wookieepedia is an encyclopedia, not a publisher of original thought. The threshold for inclusion in Wookieepedia is whether material is attributable to a reliable published source, not whether it is true. Wookieepedia is not the place to publish your opinions, experiences, or arguments. Although everything in Wookieepedia must be attributable, in practice not all material is attributed. Editors should provide attribution for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. The burden of evidence lies with the editor wishing to add or retain the material. If an article topic has no reliable sources, Wookieepedia should not have an article on it

Material counts as original research if it:

  • introduces a theory, speculation, or any other original idea;
  • defines or introduces new terms (neologisms), or provides new definitions of existing terms;
  • introduces an argument without citing a reliable source who has made that argument in relation to the topic of the article;

or

  • introduces an analysis or synthesis of published facts, opinions, or arguments without attributing that analysis or synthesis to a reliable source who has published the material in relation to the topic of the article.

Note the difference between unsourced material and original research: Unsourced material is material not yet attributed to a reliable source. Original research is material that cannot be attributed to a reliable source. The only way to demonstrate that material is not original research is to cite reliable sources that provide information directly related to the topic of the article, and to adhere to what those sources say.

As you can see saying that Kriff translates to F_ _ _ is both unsourced material and Original research according to this policy which is prohibited. I will restate my earlier request:Please edit the article so it complies with the fanon and sourcing policies. General Kenobe20pxcomlink 23:11, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

P.S would you like to continue on the article’s talk page?

  • The opion of Abel G. Peña dosen't constitute a "canonical source officially licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd" wich is mandated by Wookieepedia:Attribution.

This was copyed from Wookieepedia:Attribution:

Wookieepedia does not publish original research or original thought Original research refers to material that is not attributable to a reliable, published source. This includes unpublished facts, arguments, ideas, statements, and neologisms; and any unpublished analysis or synthesis of published material that appears to advance a position. Material added to articles must be directly and explicitly supported by the cited sources.

Wookieepedia articles must be based on reliable sourcesAny in-universe articles must be based on canonical sources officially licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd. For out-of-universe articles and behind the scenes material, the situation is more dubious.

Generally, reliable sources are credible published materials with a reliable publication process; their authors are generally regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand. As a rule of thumb, the more people engaged in checking facts, analyzing legal issues, and scrutinizing the writing, the more reliable the publication. How reliable a source is depends on context; what is reliable in one topic may not be in another. For an incomplete list, see Wookieepedia:Reliable sources.

As you can see the Kriff artical curently dosn't comply with the policy. please edit it so that it dose General Kenobe20pxcomlink 18:18, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

  • Firstly, when you say IRC do you mean Wookieepedia’s IRC channel or some thing else?
  • Secondly the “general consensus” is invalid and irrelevant when providing sources for articles as stated by Wookieepedia:Attribution. Even if the “general consensus” says something, it’s still fanon unless a canonical source officially licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd. can be produced. Furthermore, any challenged material can be removed. The material is challenged. General Kenobe20pxcomlink 01:54, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • Ok. Well I didn’t see anything about the “Behind the scenes” section outside of the sourcing and Attribution policies, do explain.
  • And unless Penta rote a book with “Kriff” in it she doesn’t constitute a valid source because (if she didn’t right a book with Kriff) that’s just her personal option-which is as far as we’re concerned is original research. Furthermore,a canonical source officially licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd. is mandated and Penta isn’t one. Lastly it is not an attempt to remove a swearword from Wookieepedia I am just concerned with the wiki, the quality of it’s content and the following of it’s policies. General Kenobe20pxcomlink 14:15, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

P.S: If you absolutely must keep the statement there despite policy, at least put a ambiguously canon template their.

Hey, Cav, I hear you have the Fact Files. Excuse me dear Cavaler one but the article refering to Kovos is no Fanon. It was mentioned and confirmed by George Lucas in Los Angeles 2009. I will start the article again since it was about a real species in the star wars universe and not something that was made up.

Turazza, the return

Have a look here. My notes:

  • Sourced per section of each book; many do not have an article yet. Those articles will be required. Maybe this will conflict with WP:DS?
    • I've redone the appearances and sources sections; I do not generally add crew notes sections as separate appearances - rather, I just fold them under the book name itself, the add the books to the sources. You'll have to amend the ref tags to reflect this.
      • Thus, I've modified footnotes so that they only link whatever is under Sources. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:49, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
  • Two books had sections with the same name, "Gamemaster Crew Notes", that I need to use independently. Maybe adapt Template:DarkStryder to allow pipeline abbreviations?
  • Skincolor: could include scale color?
  • Lifespan: Best estimate: Rizzal active from 2 BBY (Finder's Fee) to 8 ABY (DarkStryder). Add?
    • Eh, I wouldn't. Too speculative in my opinion.
  • I've added an amount of detail for Huey, Dewey, and Louie, but I think that section should be shorter.
    • Well I intend to write up the individual articles one day, so feel free to reduce the info if you feel it is needed.
      • Remains by now. If you end up happy with this, maybe I could draft some of the characters for you? --Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:49, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
      • Removed half a paragraph that I consider unneccessary for this article (We can always revert the change). --Skippy Farlstendoiro 09:29, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
  • Images: One from "The Saga Begins" can be uploaded if needed. Also, see the Image Category. I want to add "Black_Dust_Tavern1.png" to BtS, but I'm afraid it would overcrowd the article. You choose images, OK?
    • I'll look into it. Once the intro is written, we can see how many images the article should be able to support. I'd like to use the Black Dust Tavern one though for source variety :)
  • Redlinks: Many, but maybe some of them are not needed.
    • I'll look over them as well and compare it to some of my DS notes.
  • c. 945 words.
    • Looks good to me so far.
  • --Skippy Farlstendoiro 18:03, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
    • Sorry to butt in, but I noticed this exchange (and the Turazza page is on my watchlist), so I thought I'd air a few ideas.
      • I tend to interpret the "skin color" field to include scale color for species that have scales.
        • Agreed, noted above in response to Farl's comment.
      • I think only the actual adventures should appear in the "Appearances" section. Stuff like "The Command Crew" and "The Support Crew" should be lumped into one big source, called The DarkStryder Campaign or somesuch. In other words, if there's no actual plot, and it's just background material we're talking about, treat DSC as a single background source, not an appearance, and don't' make articles for such things.
        • Agreed, I do this anyway for DS articles.
      • Once the lead is expanded, the article will surpass 1,000 words and should go to FAN, not GAN, methinks. ~ SavageBob 18:12, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
        • I'd agree with that as well :)
          • Let's not jump to hyperspace yet; I want to shorten the text last paragraph of "In The Galaxy", and that might sabotage the 1,000-word limit. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:49, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
      • Thanks for your presence and support here, Bob :) --Skippy Farlstendoiro 06:49, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
  • New edit:
    • Added "External Links: CUSWE.
    • Added Hyperspace re-published appearances, both to Apps list and to footnotes. Might be removed if you want.
      • Nice on both. I rarely have to deal with Hyperspace re-published content, so I'll let others decide on that :P
    • Added images. I think the article is not utterly image-crowded now.
      • Nice. I replaced one since I already uploaded the one where they load the FarStar, and it's cropped. I'll be deleting the version you uploaded.
    • Pending: Intro. Would you like to write that, Cav?
      • I'd rather not. I want to support this through the nom periods, and having a section written by me may mean I can't support as an Inq/AC.
    • Pending: A slot to nominate it, once you give me thumbs up to do so ;D Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:47, May 19, 2010 (UTC)
      • Once the intro is written I've give it another go over. I'll also look at maybe seeing if the Turazza involvement in the FarStar mission might be expanded a little. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 11:03, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

[[Media:Example.ogg]]

  • Expanded intro.
  • "Security chief" was a bad redlink. Let's forget about it.
  • Expanded a bit on FarStars Turazzas. Anything more, I'd rather say on their individual articles. They didn't did that much, you know.
  • Thanking Cav for his harsh copyedit task. Trying to get it ready for GAN asap. Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:32, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Vos in Fact Files

Hey Cav. I was wondering if you could help me get some info (actually, a lot of info) on Quinlan Vos in the Fact Files. The only places that I currently know he's featured are in issues 69, 89, 99, 103, 111, and 137 (in that last one as part of Volfe Karkko's entry), but I suspect that he's also in other places. Would it be possible for you to get the information on him to me? I understand if this is too much to do; he's a major character and he's likely to be in the Fact Files a lot. I can get the info from you through either email or talk pages, whichever method is more convenient for you; just let me know which one so that I can keep an eye out for it. Thanks—I really appreciate your help. CC7567 (talk) 21:46, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

This is Huoba Neva's entry from the guide: This Sullustan captain's many skills make him capable in several capacities for the Alliance. Good combat and leadership skills make him a solid choice as an admiral or general, and his excellent espionage skills allow him to perform espionage, sabotage, and abduction missions efficiently. Re: Clone info

Oh sir, you have become corrupted. :P I suspect that there might be a little bit of info (maybe new, maybe not) on Flash in several sources (The Art of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The Official Episode Guide: Season 1, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Visual Guide Ultimate Battles, Season One Episode Guide (Part Two), and possibly even Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Complete Season One), but I'm a little too tired at the moment to check them and then ensure that the info gets typed up properly; I can check them for you tomorrow. To be honest, though, I don't think any source so far has provided any method to identify those three clones in the episode; they may not even be visually identified at all, if I remember correctly. I can check my notes on the Decoded version of Jedi Crash for you, as I have them lying around somewhere, but I'm not sure if that will be of any use. As for Flash's possible affiliation to a unit under Rex or Bly: no, I don't think there's any concrete info to verify such a claim, although I do applaud your efforts to make sense of Flash's origins. Hope that helps; I'll try to check the guides for info tomorrow, and I'll get back to you then. CC7567 (talk) 08:30, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

  • The only mention he gets is in the Ultimate Battles book, and there's no new info there. Hope that helps. CC7567 (talk) 16:27, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

So, you have the Fact Files? :)

Heard it through the grapevine that you have access to the Fact Files (you probably know what's coming next... :P)—I've been slowly working on Alderaan Ascendancy Contention to include every bit and piece of information from all the sources listed, and I would really appreciate it if you could provide me with the info from issues 18 (ALD3-4, Alderaan) and 67 (ORG1, Bail Organa). I don't necessarily need scans, exact wording would suffice, but if you feel like scanning I have nothing against it. :) You can contact me by email (elentirme[at]gmail[dot]com) or through my talk page. This is not an urgent request by any means, since I probably won't have time for much wiki'ing in the next few months, but by the end of the year would be nice. :D Thank you very much in advance, Tinwe 12:57, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Guudrian / Boom

Hey, Cav. I was considering writing up Guudrian, which I assume will probably fall into the GA-length range. I noticed, though, that on the page for Boom, he's only listed as being in The DarkStryder Campaign—not in any of the individual adventures. Does he play a role at all, or is he offered merely as a player character and then forgotten? Had you intended to work on the Guudrian article? I'd love to collaborate if you had, similar to how you and Skippy worked on Turazza, so let me know! ~ SavageBob 02:17, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • Well, I've updated the article as much as I know how. Do you think I missed anything? Do you know of any more Boom appearances in the DSC? ~ SavageBob 01:42, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Page delete

Hey there Cav, I see you active on RC, so I thought I'd ask you here. Would you be so kind as to delete Brainee, and with the magic Admin button at the same time move [[Unidentified Siniteen bounty hunter]] to that page. Or I can move it, once Brainee is deleted. Update:Rahm Kota

Hey Cavalier, I've seen that you're updating the Rahm Kota article with the upcoming info from TFUII. I was wondering, do you think I can join your project, and help you with minor stuff like images, quotes, and updating the intro to keep it at the same length as new information comes along? I really like Kota's character, as well as all TFU-related stuff, and I think your project is a great idea. Please leave me a message on my talk page if you think I could help you. Thanks,--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 21:37, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

One thing, though, I have the Battle of Endor up for FAnom; could you please voice your input if you have time? I need all the possible feedback to make this article FA-quality, especially regarding sources.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 11:19, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Guudrian again

Hey, Cav. I posted this above, but I think it may have gotten lost in a flurry of messages on your talk page. I've expanded Guudrian, but I'd be appreciative if you could give it a look and see if I've missed any Boom appearances. Thanks! ~ SavageBob 20:49, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks for taking a look! I'm not sure I agree with the treatment of Endgame, though. Almost always with WEG and WOTC adventures, we include them as appearances if a character actually shows up and does something. In other words, we treat roleplaying games just like video games. Aside from consistency with other articles, is there a reason to treat Endgame differently? I'd say that perhaps the book should uniformly be changed to an appearance rather than a source. ~ SavageBob 01:24, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • What would be the purpose of having an article on the book and another for the adventure contained within the book? Isn't pretty much the entire book the adventure? In other words, how would Endgame be different from, say, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes? ~ SavageBob 22:20, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
      • That makes sense. And just cover all the possibilities, would it be better to have two articles (one for the book, one for the adventure itself), or simply to designate the distinction by Endgame's placement under either "Appearances" or "Sources", depending on which section of the book a particular factoid comes from? ~ SavageBob 22:40, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
        • OK, I can go with that. :) I guess my reservation is that most WEG adventures include significant amounts of background material that relates to the adventure proper. In my mind, this stuff shouldn't be treated differently from the adventure itself, since that would put us down the slippery slope of treating, say, in-game encyclopedias from Rebellion, in-game bestiaries, and the like as separate from the main game; better to just lump it all together. But I'll defer in this case. Thanks for bouncing ideas back and forth with me. :) ~ SavageBob 23:09, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Review again

Ummmm.....hello again? I guess you either forgot or never saw my message above. I was wondering if you could review Star Wars Main Title and tell me everything it needs to be a GA. I know it's FAR from, but be merciless. Thanks. MasterFred (Whatever) † 12:43, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks. OK, here's my response to some of your questions (I hope they weren't rhetorical).
  1. The soundtrack's booklet does ascribe a certain part of the heroic cycle to each phrase. It also deems heroism and adventure as what the theme represents.
  2. Some of the references are to the notes, some are to the music on the soundtrack. I figured using the music would be like using the text in a novel. But of it's not, then I guess I'll have to find alternate sources. Also, how should I write for the layman? I figured defining each musical term would be kinda inappropriate. Should I just link the terms to Wikipedia?
  3. What is prose?
  4. I'll work on that.
  5. I never thought about talking about movies in which the theme appears (such as the Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and Spaceballs parodies, not to mention other non-Star Wars-related movies). I'll work on that too.
  6. I tried looking at stuff. There's nothing in the Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy documentary or the [[A Musical Journey]] documentary either. But I haven't searched very much Online. I'll look a little more. Also, I never thought about Star Wars: In Concert. I'll add that.

Thanks again for the review. It helps a lot. What you gave me was fine. No need for musical technicalities. :P I'll work on what you said. MasterFred (Whatever) † 21:36, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Kota

Hey Cavalier, I've found some nice images of Kota in TFU2 from screenshots and trailers. Do you need any? Also, I noticed that the spoiler tag on the top of the page just says th generic message, though it should say {Majorspoiler|Star Wars: The Force Uuleashed II}. Could you please fix this? Thanks. Oh, and finally, I have some quotes that could be used in the sections where there are none; can I place them there? Thanks.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 16:34, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

  • I know there's an insue tag, but I was just fixing a redlink to help, since you accidentally had the wrong article name.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 19:29, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • Just so you know, I actually redirected "Battle of Cato Neimoidia (Galactic Civil War)" to Skirmish on Cato Neimoidia so that it doesn't appear as a redlink on Kota's page, without me actually editing the article. We can always find solutions. By the way, I have several images of Kota from previews and screenshots that I could upload, should I give any of them to you so that you can use them in your rewrite?--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 19:36, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • I understand and fully trust you in your ability to keep the article up to its standard, as you've done a great job writing it after the first game. If I have any sugegstions regarding quotes, redlinks, or the like, do you prefer that I address you on your talk page, on my talk page, or on Rahm KOta's talk page, now that you've made it clear that editing the article is off-limits? As for images, I have no plan to place them directly in the article; rather, my plan is to upload them to other pages where they make sense (such as battle pages) or, alternatively, a sandbox. This way, they could still be on the site, and therefore not deleted, until you decide to use or not to use them on Kota's page. Thanks again.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 21:05, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
    • I have one image right now: this image, currently used on the General page. I also have suggestions for possible quotes, including some in earlier sections from the first game that currently do not have any. Again, these are all suggestions- you decide, since you're the Admin and the guy rewriting this article. Sorry if this has caused you any trouble whatsoever.--ID-21 Dolphin 20px(Talk) 21:13, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Quick Question

Hey Cav, I just set it at "skirmish" because they never named it one thing or the other and because (from what I understood) the mission itself was more for recon purposes than it was to try and actually defeat the Imperial forces, which I felt that calling it a "battle" would infer. But no, the novel doesn't call it a "skirmish," so I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever if you think it would be more appropriately placed at Battle of Cato Neimodia (Galactic Civil War). ST-4402's weapon

So obviously it is indeed a T-21, as it looks exactly like the standard weapon used by sandtroopers. So should the card itself be a source for the image clearly resembling the T-21, or without a source explicitly saying it was a T-21 should it be left unidentified? ST-4402 CAN objections

Hi Cavalier One, I have made a correction to ST-4402's article in changing the category so the character has an unidentified gender, and regarding your objection with the weapon, I'm not really sure if his weapon is really even worth noting, seeing as other quality articles (good, featured, or comprehensive) of individuals whose weapons we see do not explicitly identify their weapons, or the fact they have them. Kota stuff

Just going to leave notes for Kota here, as if they were objections. Thanks.

  1. You might consider creating an article for trench warfare and link to it in the intro and bio.
    • Awww ... do I have to? :P Seriously, though, wouldn't trench warfare be covered by the Ground warfare article? Perhaps by introducing a subsection?
      • Yeah, that's actually probably better. Didn't think of that. Will leave a Youmay template on the Trench Warfare song article. I changed the links around in the bio, but it's probably not necessary to link in the intro. Will leave that up to you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:58, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Since we format reference 1 as capitalizing "Databank," would it also be appropriate to do so for reference 14 to keep things uniform?
    • Done.
  3. This is a dangling modifier. It's literally saying the General pressed Kota for information, rather than Starkiller: "Pressing Kota for information as to her whereabouts, the General explained that Eclipse"
    • Reworded slightly.
  4. Kind of redundant wording. See if you can tweak this at all: "At some point, the General was examined by a medical examiner"
    • Changed wording to "checked over".
  5. If the Battle of Kamino (Galactic Civil War) is not formally applied this title by one of the sources (i.e., if it's a conjectural title), the corresponding section title in the article and the section's quote caption should avoid treating it as a formal, capitalized title.
    • Changed to "assault on Kamino" since simply decapping it would probably lead others to try recapping it constantly :P
  6. Might we leave a redlink for this Star Destroyer? "X2 first infiltrated a Star Destroyer guarding the station"
    • We could, I suppose. I'd have to ask QuiGonJinn for specifics before creating it though (assuming it hasn't already been created) since its from that pesky Elite Squadrons game.
  7. Was sort of confused by this statement, whether this is referring to Kota. If so, would request changing "him" to "Kota": "part of the plot involves the apprentice further refining the weapon to become better attuned to him" Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:38, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
    • No, the "him" refers to the apprentice. I've given it a little rewrite to try and be clearer. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 15:32, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
      • Your change is fine. I've also tweaked "him" to "himself."
      • Just struck everything for convenience's sake. Good work overall. I trust you'll handle the Star Destroyer thing satisfactorily. Also as a last reminder, I left the article under full protection to give you a chance to make revisions, so I'll leave it up to you to lower that when you're ready. Though keep in mind that your dolphin friend was already bugging me about not being able to make changes... Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:58, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Elite Squadron info

Hey. I don't think we have an article for that Star Destroyer yet. From what I can tell, it's a standard Imperial-class (either I or II; I've never understood the difference). Basically, this should be the Star Destroyer in question. The picture has been added to illustrate the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser; however, it appears that the screenshot was taken from some early version of the game, as in my version, the Star Destroyer is positioned differently relative to the Death Star and certainly looks like an Imperial-class. I could capture another screenshot if needed. So, yeah. As for it's role, at the beginning of the mission, Kota warns X2 of an "Imperial combat patrol," but it's not clear if he's referring to the attacking TIE fighters or the Destroyer as well. To me, it looks like the Star Destroyer is protecting the Death Star and dispatches a combat patrol of TIEs to confront X2 and the rest of the Rebels. Hey, Cav. It's been a while since I requested the Fact Files on the Max Rebo Band. I'm not trying to be a pest, but I just thought I'd remind you of the request for when you get a chance. Merci! ~ SavageBob 23:12, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

  • And I'm not sure if this is the same set of FFs, but MUS1–4, Music and Musicians, mentions some of the band members too. Thanks again, ~ SavageBob 15:50, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

Some fact file stuff

Hey Cav! I had some questions regarding the Fact Files for you. Numero Uno: Would you happen to know any other fact files besides The Official Star Wars Fact File 134 that might have information on or a mention of Suribran Tu? And B: Would you happen to know if there are any fact files that contain information on Silas? Thanks for the info. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 19:45, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
