Editing Suu

Please do not edit a page that has the inuse template above. Thank you. --Jawaman No, I did NOT steal your droid! 09:07, January 4, 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, didn't notice the template until after the edit. I'll be more careful from now on.Axinal 08:36, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Ref tag

Thought I'd reply here instead of messing up the GAN page :P. The ref is a template (here) which is used to make references smaller. If you want the reference <ref name="VoT">{{TCW|Voyage of Temptation}}</ref> in the infobox, you should format it like this: {{Ref|<ref name="VoT">{{TCW|Voyage of Temptation}}</ref>}}. Remember just to add ref tags in infoboxes. Feel free to ask if anything is unclear. Cheers. Xd 16:37, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

I see the difference in the formatting, but it looks the same and appears to serve the same function on the main page. Do you mind explaining to me what the difference is? Thanks! Unsigned comment by Axinal (talk • contribs)
  • I've got a feeling that it makes the references smaller, but honestly, I don't know =P Xd 16:48, February 9, 2010 (UTC)
  • Heh, not a problem. Thanks for your help! Axinal 16:59, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

Coronet Skirmish

Wanted to run something by you. I have a good image of Vizsla toasting Satine, that would go well in the "Prelude" section. I would then remove the image of Mixer, which really serves no purpose to the article, and then stagger the remaining images accordingly. Any problem with me doing that? - JMAS 20px Hey, it's me! 03:06, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Sure, sounds fine with me. Axinal 03:14, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about not running it by you but I found the links for Redeye going to the wrong page, and just fixed them to make sure it would be accepted. Fett the 13th 05:20, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

No problem; sorry I reverted the Redeye edit. I didn't notice that the direct was wrong. Thanks for fixing that one. Axinal Convocation Chamber 05:31, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Skirmish aboard the Coronet

Actually, I'm about to give your article another review shortly. As for the outstanding objections, I'll check on those, too. :) JangFett (Talk) 22:48, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thank you for correcting me. That's what happens when you concentrate on more than one article. :P JangFett (Talk) 03:10, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • I'll get to it as soon as I get some free time :-) Xd 13:26, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Skirmish aboard the Coronet

I agree with your reasoning; however craft is the plural of craft when the word is used in reference to a vehicle. Crafts is only the plural used when in reference to the ‘craft’ being a trade or skill. ChancellorValorum 01:04, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

  • Glad I could help. Best of luck with the nomination for Good Article. ChancellorValorum 03:29, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

Please, learn to count

Hey there, wise-guy, whatever the article may be, still that section you revised is incorrect. The amount of droids destroyed by Skywalker is four time the amount you suggest in the page for skirmish on the Coronet. Re-watch the episode and then judge what is wrong and what is right. Cause on the part of false information, the article needs and edit!--Dangrievous 18:55, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

Convention of Civilized Systems

Would you mind pointing out to me specifically where the Convention of Civilized Systems is mentioned in Hero of the Confederacy 3? No matter how much I try, I can't seem to find it. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 05:24, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Thank you for the clarification. Currently, I can't seem to find it, so the information on the comic issue page is probably inaccurate; I'll correct it to avoid further confusion. CC7567 (talk) 05:45, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, you just deleted my hard works imput on Ewan Mcgregor's page. Please, never do that again. --Cc-7567 lover 00:28, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Where did you put it?

Thank you for not being mean about it like others on here who feel they can push me around. So, now that I am thanking you, I'm wondering... where did you move the info. to?--Cc-7567 lover 00:40, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Obi-Wan's Powers and Abilities

Powers and abilities

[[:File:Obiwan-Soresu.jpg|thumb|250px|left|Obi-Wan Kenobi, master of Soresu.]] Despite his preference for diplomacy, Master Kenobi was one of the greatest swordsmen and Force-users in Jedi history.

As a young Jedi Padawan, Kenobi showed much potential, through feats such as resisting a memory wipe (being renewed) at the hands of the Syndicat, and defeating a corrupt Bruck Chun in a lightsaber duel. He accomplished the prior by placing Force barriers all around his mind, a technique something only a Jedi Master should be able to do.

Lightsaber Training

In his early years, Kenobi was trained in Ataru, but later abandoned it as his primary form due to its lack of defense, which resulted in the death of his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. However, he still mastered Ataru and utilized it on numerous occasions. After changing his signature lightsaber form, Obi-Wan studied and mastered Soresu. Even Jedi Masters such as Mace Windu acknowledged Kenobi's prowess with this form even once claiming that Obi-Wan was not a master of Soresu but the master of Soresu.

Obi-Wan also utilized elements of Shii-Cho, infusing aspects into his swordplay in many battles, including his rematch with Count Dooku on board the Invisible Hand to overcome Soresu’s inherent weaknesses to Dooku’s style Makashi. He also mastered Sokan, which he utilized in his fight against Darth Vader to claim “the high ground” as well as victory. He also knew Niman, sometimes using its opening stance with the blade cocked high, and was also apparently skilled in Jar'Kai, being able to resist a seasoned practitioner of the very same style, Asajj Ventress, with another lightsaber, Ky Narec’s one, in addition to his own during their short duel on Rattatak. thumb|right|180px|Kenobi blocking Count Dooku's Force lightning.

Obi-Wan was one of the greatest duelists of his time, rivaling even Yoda and Mace Windu. He killed Darth Maul in one-to-one engagement; resisted Dooku for a lengthy period of time, despite being exhausted and wielding an unfamiliar lightsaber. He also easily fended off Asajj Ventress numerous times; defeated Grievous in the lightsaber dueling portion of their fight; and finally defeated his former Padawan turned Sith, Darth Vader, without sustaining any physical injury.

Force Powers

Though Obi-Wan focused largely on lightsaber combat he was also very skilled and powerful in use of the Force. He was trained in use of the Mind trick, Force persuasion, and the more advanced Dominate Mind skill, eventually becoming his signature techniques. As instructed by Qui-Gon Jinn's Force ghost, Kenobi also learned the ability to become a spirit after death, like his former Master and Yoda. He would later put this skill to good use, guiding and counseling Luke Skywalker throughout a large portion of his training.

Kenobi was also capable of a very powerful Force Push, which he used many times in his Jedi career, notably so throughout the Clone Wars, against Grievous during their duel on Utapau, and then later when he displayed his mastery of the technique during his duel with Darth Vader. Being The Chosen One, Vader had the highest Force potential known throughout history and as a testament to Obi-Wan’s own Force power, neither of them were able to overpower the other while locked in a struggle and using the technique. The Jedi Master was also capable of many other telekinetic feats and could use the Force to increase his body's endurance and agility. Kenobi was capable of using the Force to perform extensive acrobatics, allowing him to leap incredibly vast distances.

In addition, Kenobi was able to use such techniques as Force deflection and Force crush as shown in his battle with Durge when he deflected many of the bounty hunter’s attacks without his lightsaber and then crushed the flamethrower on his right arm. And later in their second fight he also displayed mastery of Force repulse to a remarkable degree, shown when he exploded Durge from the inside out after being absorbed by him. Obi-Wan was also known to have some knowledge of Force absorption in his repertoire, but to what extent is unknown.

Apart from these numerous and impressive applications of the Force, Obi-Wan was known to be incredibly adept with the arcane power of Beast Control, allowing him to exert considerable influence over otherwise untamable beasts; indeed, during the Battle of Ryloth, the Jedi Master was able to calm and control a large group of starved, vicious and attacking gutkurrs. thumb|left|250px|Kenobi was a respected general during the Clone Wars. It is also possible that Kenobi used this power to create a connection between him and Boga, during the Battle of Utapau, which would account for the high level of loyalty the creature displayed towards him.

Other Skills

Obi-Wan Kenobi proved himself to be a great military strategist. During the Clone Wars, he personally led his troops to many famous victories on worlds such as Raxus Prime, Muunilinst, and Utapau, as well as countless others. His tactical skills and persuasive demeanor earned him the moniker of “The Negotiator” and allowed the Republic to minimize Clone casualties during many of their battles. His use of Advanced Recon Commandos and Lance Troopers on Muunilinst were key elements to the victory of the Republic. His strategic ability was also shown in his lightsaber combat. Applying the principles of Soresu and Sokan, he often took advantage of his superior defensive capabilities and position on the battlefield to win his battles with as little effort exhausted as possible. He used this particular strategy to tire his former Padawan out and sever his legs and left arm on Mustafar.

Despite his dislike of flying, Kenobi was an excellent pilot. As a Padawan, he was known as one of the greatest pilots in the Jedi Order, expressing great interest in the early Jedi starfighter program. During the Clone Wars, he led many attacks from the cockpit of his Jedi starfighter or his Jedi interceptor, often designated as Red Leader. He could repair all kinds of craft and machines as well as use computers to enhance his various skills.

Also, Obi-Wan seemed to be an expert martial artist even without the use of his lightsaber. Trained at the Jedi Temple and having undergone extensive sparring matches with both Qui-Gon and Master Windu, he became quite masterful in hand-to-hand combat, enough so to even outclass the leader of the Mandalorian’s elite Death Watch, Pre Vizsla, in both their bouts of the lightsaber as well as their fists.

In his later years, Kenobi apparently learned to understand Shyriiwook and other alien languages.

Favor?

Hey Axinal,

I was wondering if I could ask you a really quick favor! If so, thank you so much, and if not, no worries. You have Star Wars Insider 75, right? Is there any chance that you could quickly check it and let me know how many pages the short story Or Die Trying is? I was recently at home, and I dug it out of my collection and got all the relevant info I needed, but I forgot to note the number of pages. I'm pretty sure it's either 6 or 8 pages, including the full-page illustration at the beginning... could you help me out? Thanks so much! Menkooroo 01:20, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • No rush at all. Thank you so much, and also for the quick reply! Menkooroo 01:27, October 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thank you so much! That was very kind of you to check. If there's anything at all you need, be sure to let me know. I guess I'm good at... providing images from comics, even if they're not as good as Redemption's. :^D Oooooh, and I have access to a buncha sourcebooks, too! Menkooroo 15:17, October 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • Hello, my friend. I'm wondering if you can help me out one more time. I feel bad asking for help again, but I'm looking for any and all information on Lumpy that the article Wasaka Berries and Monster Ships in Star Wars Insider 74 has... can you help me out? Or, if he's not mentioned by name, is there a picture of him? Thank you so much in advance, and sorry to ask for help again. Menkooroo 03:46, December 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • That's amazing. That was very, very helpful. You are wonderful. :D Would you be able to provide me with the quotes from Patricia Wynne and K-Mac? If they're about Lumpy, that is. Thank you so much again! Menkooroo 05:18, December 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • THANK YOU! Both of those quotes are actually incredibly helpful when it comes to bts info about Lumpy. Wynne's also provides the name of the author of The Wookiee Storybook, which I don't think you can find anywhere else. Thank you so much!! Menkooroo 15:12, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

Nosaurians in Knight Errant

Hey, Axinal. I just noticed you added the Knight Errant novel to the Nosaurian appearances list. I can't find any searchable versions of the book online (like at Amazon), so could you tell me what chapter Nosaurians appear in and in what capacity? Does the book say anything about them as a species? Thanks for your help! ~ SavageBob 08:38, January 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • Cheers for the help! I may need to hit you up for a bit more context when I get around to updating the article (I think the Nosaurian probably deserves an Unidentified Nosaurian mercenary article), if you don't mind. ~ SavageBob 16:32, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Battle of Grazzani..

Actually, the speeder bike that Kerra uses to destroy Odion's Death Spiral wasn't hers. Jelcho, one of Odion's flunky's tried to run her down, only to be knocked unconscious and have her strap the bombs to him and his vehicle and sent into the Superweapon.

Recruitment

Hey Axinal, I've seen you working a lot recently on Knight Errant-related material, and I was wondering if you would be interested in joining WookieeProject New Sith Wars? If so, feel free to add your name to our list of participants. Cheers! Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 04:28, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

Knight Errant

I've been watching your work on the Battle of Gazzari article, and I would like to wish you all the best with that. Regarding your question, there doesn't seem to be any official source that explicitly identifies the conflict in Knight Errant as the Second Sith War. However, it does seem that they are intended to be same conflict, as they both take place within the same timeframe, although we can't know for certain until there is some form of official confirmation. I would therefore suggest that you try and contact John Jackson Miller, as he could hopefully clarify things. He has an email address listed on his website here, or alternately you could place an interview request on our VIP interviews page, as I am sure that there are many other people on this site with questions for JJM. --Jinzler 12:38, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

    • Well done for contacting JJM! The novel should be fine as a source for the name "second Charge Matrica", as that is want it is referred to as on p.303. I see that you've nominated the Battle of Gazzari, so I'll try and review the article for you somewhen over the weekend. --Jinzler 21:14, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

WP:RWM help

Hello there. :) I don't believe we've met. I was hoping you might be able to do a favor for me. I'm working on real world music articles, and I need to know if the liner notes from the Ep. 1-3 soundtracks say anything about The Flag Parade, Across the Stars, Arena Theme, and General Grievous' Theme respectively. If you could, I'd much appreciate it. And nice to meet you. :) MasterFred20px(Whatever) 22:21, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey Fred, thanks for your review on my article. I'd be happy to take a look at the soundtracks within the next couple of days and get back to you. Great to meet you! Axinal Convocation Chamber 22:59, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Battle of Gazzari

Uh, sorry for the intrusion on your FA-to-be. :) I hope I or someone else will be able to add that template etc. soon, though. :) Imperators II 17:48, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • OK. Though it seems to me that the New Sith Wars aren't really only about Jedi-Sith conflicts (remember the Ubese). Imperators II 18:00, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Page move

Please note that whenever one makes a page move, they leave a redirect in their wake. I have deleted the article 2,032 BBY, which you left as a redirect for 2132 BBY. As a result, there are now many redlinks left that would otherwise need to point to the 2,032 BBY article. As the one who moved the page, it is your responsibility to make sure you check for and update these links. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:10, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

Keshiri bar

Umm, what makes you think the bar is within Tahv's walls? The eBook states that it was "a hovel nestled in the lengthening shadows of the capital city's walls". I take it means it is located just outside, don't you think so? Imperators II 21:43, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • Well, that's even more speculative. In my opinion, if Jelph were in a bar that's just outside the city walls, they could already seem "purposeless" in that sense. I agree about the "in or near" phrasing. Imperators II 22:01, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Keshiri bartender

No problem Axinal, good work on the article. :) I usually prefer to avoid present participles because they're not strictly past-tense phrases, and all our IU prose is supposed to be strictly past tense. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:15, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Remorseless in Battle of Gazzari

Hey, Axinal, I just wanted to note that once Battle of Gazzari is FA, whenever that is, you might want to add Remorseless to the infobox (a Daimanite mercenary infantry carrier that was probably destroyed by Daimanite/Odionite forces ("They just took out Remorseless." by Ishal, the Mon Calamari navigator of Diligence)). Alternatively, I'll try to remember to do that myself when the article's FA. Imperators II 21:07, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and moved the article. In the future, when requesting these kind of page moves, please add {{Delete|to make way for move from [[X]]}} (or something to that effect) to the redirect rather than blanking it; this preserves the page history of article X when the move is done by an administrator. Additionally, please make sure to add appearances and sources to the shock trooper article to prevent it from being deleted in a week. Thanks.
