Beginning of Time

Eons ago, the universe began.[1] Eventually a galaxy formed around a supermassive black hole,[2] where stars and planets took shape.[3] Within the heart of the galaxy,[4] microscopic organisms called midi-chlorians[5] were born.[4][6] These intelligent organisms form a symbiotic relationship with all life,[5] creating the connection between the Living Force[4]—the energy of all life[7] —to the Cosmic Force.[4] From this, the all-encompassing energy field known as “the Force[3] communicates and projects its will onto the beings of the galaxy.[8]

Around this time,[9] the powerful being known as the Father had two children, the Daughter and the Son.[10] The Daughter embodied the light side of the Force, while the Son embodied the dark.[11] To protect the galaxy from their immense power, the Father brought the beings to Mortis,[10] an ethereal realm[12] within the Force that acted as both a sanctuary and a prison.[10] From Mortis, the Father kept watch over the balance of the Force in the galaxy, and carefully maintained the balance between his son and his daughter.[13]

Pre-history[14]

In ancient times,[15] thousands of years before the invention of hyperspace travel, when the petrified spires of Black Spire Outpost were alive, there lived a species of sentient trees. These trees fostered other life, including a race of beasts and a race of fae creatures. In their quest to expand to new lands, the trees sent seeds to create a new colony, but as time passed, the colony fell silent. Concerned, the trees sent two small groups of fae to investigate. When they did not return, the trees assumed the best, and forgot about their distant kin. The trees then turned to the ocean, fostering life there and creating a new colony on the islands beyond. Yet again, their colony fell silent. Eventually, the first colony returned demanding resources from their progenitors. An argument over resource management turned into war, as fae and beasts alike battled in a terrible onslaught. As the conflict became more heated, the fae became more cunning with their tactics of war, with the once neutral ocean colony joining in to reestablish peace. The fae would, after years of conflict, start to harvest living force from the trees themselves. With their connection to the living force dwindling and their means of reproducing halted due to the war, the trees turned black and died, leaving only a Silent Circle of spires, just outside Black Spire Outpost.[16]

Early Civilizational Period[17]

In a far galaxy,[18] on the planet Peridea, there existed a great Witch Kingdom of the Dathmiri. By traveling on the hyperspace-fairing star whales known as purrgils,[19] they[20] were able to establish themselves in a new galaxy on the planet Dathomir.[21] After some time, the great kingdom fell,[19] but a star map charting the pathway to Peridea remained.[22] A reflex point on Seatos was built to view the star map,[23] and it was stored in a Nightsister fortress on the planet Arcana.[22]

  6. Midi-chlorians are organisms, but they are also responsible for life existing. With that it can be assumed that midi-chlorians are the first lifeforms, hence the placement after stars and planets forming.

  9. The Ones are meant to be embodiments of the force, their appearance match the life force around them. With Mortis literally being a physical manifestation of the Force, and the force-wielders being immortal, it can be assumed that these beings and their conflict began around when the Living Force began, which is when life itself began.

  14. Made-up term, I don't know if there is precedent for it. Just means before sentient life started their civilizations, which is similar to the irl term.
  15. This is meant as an origin story for how the petrified rocks in Black Spire Outpost came to be. The intention is for this story to be a myth. If we understand this story as actually taking place, but taking place when the trees would still be alive (under the assumption that petrification took place as it does on Earth, which takes millions of years), this story likely takes place in pre-history.
