"What was this place?"
"An ancient temple built by my ancestors. The Nightsisters of Dathomir."
Shin Hati and Morgan Elsbeth[2]

The Nightsisters' Temple was a temple that was constructed by the Nightsisters of Dathomir thousands of years before the Battle of Endor, was located on the world of Arcana.

History

By the time after the Galactic Civil War, the temple had been reduced to ruins.[2]

In 9 ABY,[1] Ahsoka Tano journeyed to the Nightsisters' Temple on the planet Arcana and completed a puzzle to acquire the Arcana Star Map that led to the far galaxy where Grand Admiral Thrawn was believed to have been exiled. After acquiring the star map, Tano was attacked by multiple HK-87 assassin droids, whose self-destruct sequences burnt down what remained of the temple.[2]

Behind the scenes

"THREE THERE WERE WHO MADE THE JOURNEY, WITHOUT WHOSE KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NO RETURNING…A PATHWAY CONNECTING NEAR AND FAR, ACROSS THE HEAVENS STAR TO STAR…DESPITE GREAT POWERS WHICH DO OBJECT, THIS SECRET WAY THE THREE PROTECT…SO HEED THE PATH WITH A WATCHFUL EYE, FOR IF YOU WANDER YOU WILL DIE…"
―A fan translation of the runes[3]

The Nightsisters' Temple first appeared in "Part One: Master and Apprentice," the first episode of the live-action Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka,[2] which was released on August 22, 2023.[4] However, the stronghold was never identified until it's very own Databank entry was added.[5]

Frances Lebar, the art director of the series later released multiple production photos of the set design,[6] allowing fans to translate the runes written around the temple.[3]
