A male individual lived during the High Republic Era and was the father of a human girl.[1] At one point by 382 BBY,[2] the father and daughter were in the market of the town Ferdan on the Outer Rim planet Dalna where the girl was given a flower by Marda Ro—an Evereni female Path of the Open Hand cult member. The daughter kissed Ro's cheek in return and when the Evereni went to kiss her back, the father dragged their daughter away, citing anti-Path and anti-Evereni sentiment. Afterward, Marda's cousin Yana Ro consoled her and told her that she should have used her sharp teeth, and it took Marda weeks to untangle the father's vitriol toward her.[1] That year,[2] after Marda had kissed the Pantoran Jedi Padawan Kevmo Zink, she mentally recalled the only other time she had been kissed—the human girl in the Ferdan market—and remembered the father's reaction and the affects it had on her in the weeks after.[1]
Behind the scenes
The human girl's father was mentioned in the 2022 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit, written by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[3] Within the novel, the father was mentioned in a chapter written by Gratton.[4]
