A colony ship[1] was part of a group of colony ships containing human Grizmallti refugees that fled a civil war on the planet Grizmallt in approximately 4,000 BBY.[3] The ship crashed on the planet Naboo,[2] and the humans from the ships colonized the world, becoming the Naboo people.[3] The crash of the colony ship was later represented with the symbol of the Royal House of Naboo in a holographic display used in the Naboo's annual Festival of Light[1] in 20 BBY,[4] which commemorated the anniversary of the planet becoming a member of the Galactic Republic.[1]

Behind the scenes

The colony ship was symbolized in a holographic display in "Crisis on Naboo,"[5] the eighteenth episode of the fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which aired on February 10, 2012.[6] The explanation of the symbol's meaning was later included in the accompanying episode guide published on StarWars.com.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds established that three colony ships brought Humans from the planet Grizmallt to the planet Naboo: Beneficent Tasia, Constant, and Mother Vima.[7] However, the "Crisis on Naboo" episode guide did not specify which of the three ships crashed on Naboo.[1]
