Trypto Buball was an alien male agricultural baron who grew wealthy due to the vast space-fungi farming colonies that his family owned.[2] In 34 ABY,[4] he was a guest[5] at the Canto Casino and Racetrack in the city Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica and was standing near a row of gaming machines when fellow patron Dobbu Scay mistook the astromech droid BB-8 for one of the devices.[1]

Buball was later standing in the casino crowds near BB-8's companions Finn and Rose Tico when the pair spotted the gambler known as the Master Codebreaker.[6] While at the casino, the baron wore a black suit with a white trim along with black boots, white chaps, and a white padded collar. He used a dark blue and silver cane to walk and had dark pink skin, yellow eyes, and a gray mustache.[3]

Behind the scenes

Trypto Buball first appeared in the sequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi,[1] which was released on December 15, 2017.[7] Concept art of the character was created by Jake Lunt Davies and during production Buball was known as "Turkey Guy." The character was portrayed by Aidan Cook[8] and unused B-roll footage of Buball shows him on other parts of the casino floor, including a close-up of the alien looking over the shoulder of a human casino guest.[9] The character was first identified in the reference book Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo[3] and released on the same day as the film.[10]
