The Thuldin's Grant sector was a sector of the Expansion Region. It was adjacent to the Trailing Grant sector and the Montitian Grant sector, as well as the Freestanding subsectors of the Expansion Region and the Mid Rim. The sector included the Garen system, a star system where the planet Garen IV was located.[1]
The area of space containing the sector was first explored between 1000 BBY and 25 BBY.[3] Garen IV was the location of a penal colony used by the Galactic Empire during its reign, although[4] in 2 BBY,[5] during the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic carried out a raid there and freed a number of prisoners.[4] By 25 ABY, the average population of the area was less than one million sentient beings per star system. The entire sector was considered part of the galactic empire of the Sith Lord Darth Krayt by 137 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Thuldin's Grant sector was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[1] The sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the StarWars.com article Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region on October 26, 2012. The map placed it across grid squares J-15 and K-15.[2]
