A legion of Night Troopers served Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo "Thrawn" during the admiral's exile on Peridea, located in the far galaxy.
History
Dwindling numbers
One of two death troopers in the Night Troopers legion
The Night Troopers were originally stormtroopers who were onboard the Chimaera when they were taken away by Purrgil during the Battle of Lothal.[6] Over the years of their exile on the extragalactic planet Peridea, the forces under the command of Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo "Thrawn" decreased in number. During their time on Peridea, they managed to tame a howler, as well as keep intel on the whereabouts of Ezra Bridger. Eventually, Thrawn's stormtroopers,[1] now calling themselves Night Troopers,[2] were reduced[1] to a single legion,[2] which included two death troopers.[4] Thrawn made the soldier Enoch the captain of the legion and allied with the three Great Mothers.[1]
Discovery and escape
Through the Great Mothers, Thrawn reached out to his former servant Morgan Elsbeth, who arrived to Peridea aboard the Eye of Sion to rescue Thrawn, his forces, and the Dathomirian mothers. As per his agreement with the Great Mothers, Thrawn had his Night Trooopers begin loading his Star Destroyer with cargo from their catacombs. When the released prisoner Sabine Wren went off to find Ezra Bridger, Thrawn dispatched two squads of Night Troopers to kill both.[1]

However due to the arrival of Ahsoka Tano, the squads suffered heavy casualties, 13 in all, forcing Thrawn to recall them. All the while, the Great Mother's cargo was being transferred and upon completion, the Night Troopers prepared to escape Peridea.[3] Knowing that the Jedi would attempt to stop their departure, a group of Night Troopers volunteered to remain behind to slow their advance. The volunteers were all killed, but the Great Mothers resurrected them using their magick, turning them into unrelenting zombies. Following the Chimaera's escape, the Great Mothers' Fortress was destroyed, eliminating the troopers within. However, the majority of the legion escaped with the Grand Admiral, with Ezra Bridger secretly hidden in their ranks, who escaped after they arrived in the main galaxy. The remaining Night Troopers were onboard the Chimaera as they approached Dathomir.[4]
